Through Dr. Greger's videos and book I found my answer: a vegan diet is as healthy as you make it! Dr. Greger, although I'm quite young (27) and with no health problems, you inspired me to eat well. Thank you so much for your work, my family and I really appreciate it. Reply Garland N says: September 9, 2016 at 11:20 pm Very interesting point you make about nutrition. I have learned from one of my Dr.s in past years is that many Dr.s know how important nutrition is and keep that a secret for themselves and their families. This Dr. had a practice that was so large and was all on board with the drug companies. He did not mind loosing a patient or two that he gave me a lot of inside info on the natural healing he used for himself. Thank you Dr. Greger. Reply George Zuwala says: September 10, 2016 at 12:32 am Mucho respect to a man who lived in his car to spread the truth and now look where he is. a Vegan for 25 years no meds, health issues etc. Reply Ian Mitchell says: September 10, 2016 at 12:37 am I think you are the greatest man on this planet at this moment and for a long time to come. people hate me for quoting your truth about nutrition. but I just keep on quoting you ..thanks Reply DronePilot Canadian says: September 10, 2016 at 12:51 am I have been watching your videos for a while and appreciate your research , you always cite your sources and refrain from pseudoscience sticking to the absolute science and studies . I have cross referenced every topic you have covered just to get that second and third opinion as any intelligent person should and found you are very accurate and reliable. The real truth lies within myself as far as the effectiveness of using your advice in altering my own habits . My health has changed for the better to the extent that my own doctor has been asking me what I've been doing different . He then proceeds to tell me whatever I'm doing to keep doing it . So , nutrition is a key factor in good health (obviously) and exercise reduced stress along with proper sleep are the others . Most people overlook these obvious aspects of being health and you bring them to the forefront in an easy to understand format . Just wanted to give you props for being awesome and thank you for all of the great advice and knowledge . Reply egal says: September 10, 2016 at 1:26 am Can anyone help me with my skin. I have been getting breakouts for the past two months. I eat whole foods, high fiber. No refined carbs, no overt sugars. I eat ginger and turmeric daily to lower my inflammation (which has helped quite a bit but hasn't eliminated the problem). I know it must be something I'm eating (?) since acne is caused from the inside, not the outside (plus i'm already washing my face religiously once a day — twice was causing my face to become too dry, changing my pillow cases several times per week, etc. lots of other external things). I can't figure out what the hell could be causing my acne. The only things I could possibly pinpoint it to would be hummus, which i eat MAYBE twice a week at most. And peanut butter, which I eat occasionally as well, maybe two to three times a week. This is so frustrating. alskdfjadlskfj Can anyone offer any insights? Could I be missing something? About six months ago I was eating WAY worse and had flawless skin. The only thing that has changed is that I started eating way more healthfully, and now I'm breaking out XD goddamnit. Please don't delude yourself into thinking it's "toxins", and that i'm "detoxing" — please, that is like the new age religion. There is no evidence that that is even real. Have you done a video on essential amino acids? I've been vegan for about 9 months and have been lifting weights for a few years now. My trainer became concerned when she learned I became vegan and said that it would be difficult for me to get essential amino acids and suggested I take a BCAA supplement. I'm eager to hear your thoughts on the subject. Thanks! Reply Queer Veg says: September 10, 2016 at 7:42 am You are a saint Dr. Greger! My father has Parkinsonism. and during the initial 6 months of adopting an almost- whole food plant based diet, his condition worsened fast. However, later he felt better as his condition started to stablize with Chinese medicine. I'm wondering if this was because the effect of Chinese medicine kicked in or the diet finally took effect? and if it was the latter, how come it took so long? Many thanks! But the real problem is the modern industrial diet is grain-based, (corn, soy and wheat) and the animals are fed the same stuff (corn, soy and wheat). Corn and soy, in particular are GMO, round up ready, and full of glyphosate. So the food supply is grain-based (nutrition poor and pro inflammatory) and full of glyphosate. There's your problem. The future looks pretty grim to me unless we can stop eating industrial food. It's up to the consumer. Reply T Taylor says: October 30, 2018 at 2:51 am Talk about misinformation… so confused … just watched this video on you tube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isIw2AN_-XU Reply NorthStar Astrology says: December 23, 2018 at 6:37 am Dr., did you know, that ancient doctors knew how to treat their patients according to the Astrological Natal Chart? Isn't that cool?!? And according to the placement of where in your chart per the bodily ailment. For instance, Aries deals with the Brain and Eyes, Taurus deals with the ear canal and throat, Gemini deals with Shoulders, Arms and Hands, Cancer deals with the Stomach, Leo deals with the Heart and Back, Virgo deals with the Digestive Tract, Libra deals with the Lower Lumbar and Hip Joints, Scorpio deals with the Reproductive System, Sagittarius deals with the Femur and/or Upper Thigh area, Capricorn deals with the Knees, Teeth and all skeletal structures, Aquarius deals with the Ankle joints, and finally, Pisces deals with the Feet as well as the Back. And in ancient times the doctor would prescribe what particular food bode well for each particular Sun Sign. Note: I have shown here, each Sun Sign from first to last; as there are 12 signs in all. Reply Brian S. Law says: February 11, 2019 at 1:29 am Hi Dr. Greger, Is it “ok” in your opinion, to drink "soy milk" with my bowl of cereal, consisting of shredded wheat, cheerio's, blueberries & sliced banana to start my day? Other than that, I've started a vegan plant protein diet, to hopefully reverse my 1cm non calcified plaque LAD 30 % stenosis blockage in my arteries.
