What is keto, the keto flu, and my diet tip for the day!

As most of you know I tend to post a lot
of things that center around nutrition (on Instagram)
fitness food health those kind of things
and today I wanted to talk a bit about
the keto diet my friend today she
messaged me about thinking to go on the
keto diet and I was like great but watch
out for the keto flu a little
bit about keto it’s an extremely low
carb very high fat diet and we’re
talking about high fat is healthy fats
like avocados olive oil good fats and
nuts not fats such as fat that you use
to fry foods and not those kind of fats
but I told her about the keto flu and
she didn’t know what the keto flu was
it’s where she’s going to feel or
experience headaches nausea dizziness
fogginess in the brain and that happens
as a result of becoming dehydrated where
you now need to intake
more water to prevent those
feelings since you’re not intaking a
lot of carbs and basically for keto you
you can’t have any fruit you can’t have
complex carbs like rice pasta breads
beans nothing like that you can only
have greens salads celery
parsley cucumbers things like
that to keep you in ketosis it’s very
easy to cheat on the keto diet because
one simple food that is not within the
keto rules let’s just say can take
you out of ketosis and then you’re not
in the fat-burning mode anymore so
anyway I just told her she’s got to
really hydrate properly make sure she’s
getting her two litres or more of water
and fluids a day and take electrolytes
or if taking electrolytes take
more of it to
help reduce the symptoms or effects of
the Keto flu I myself I have
considered going on the keto diet and
just to lose the last few pounds of
stubborn fat and I know most of
you are gonna say that I don’t have
anything to lose but you know everybody
has some stubborn areas but anyway I am very disciplined with food and nutrition
but I couldn’t even go on the diet for
one day because when I calculated my
macros and everything my protein fats
and carbs how much I can intake using
the Keto macros I found I
couldn’t even I didn’t even want to go
through it I felt miserable already
looking at what I would be able to eat
and it wasn’t worth all that to me so I didn’t even go on
the diet but my message today is just to
research about the diet before you go on
it so that you know what to expect
because you don’t want to start a diet
and after a day or two or midway into it
experience something adverse or negative
and have these unexpected
surprises come up but anyway that’s my
tip for today so thanks for watching!
