WEIGHT LOSS DURING AND AFTER MENOPAUSE BY DIETITIAN PRITI NATH GURU II

Hello everyone.. My name is Priti Nath Guru
Today we are going to discuss about one of the major problem among females i.e Menopausal Phase.
That what type of diet we should take in this phase?
In menopausal phase a woman don’t get her periods/month cycle for the continuous one year.
And the phase prior to that is called Perimenopausal Phase which begins prior 3-4 years.
In this duration it becomes really difficult for a female to maintain her weight.
Ladies who are already overweight, it necessary for them to maintain and reduce their weight.
Specifically its important for the females who are entering into this phase because of hormonal changes.
Thus they face difficulty in maintaining their weight.
In this phase they requires lot of Minerals, Calcium & Iron.
For that doctors even suggest some supplements for them.
They should eat fibrous food, take protein rich diet
Because if we are controlling our weight on excess amount especially
Then chances are there that your muscle weight began to loose.
For that its necessary to take protein rich diet i.e Cottage Cheese, Sprouts and Tofu.
For calcium rich food dairy products can be taken like Cheese also cashew nuts can be taken.
But its also necessary to have control on the portion.
We should take small meals instead of taking lot of meals
Ladies who takes alcohol, they should reduce the consumption of alcohol.
Also reduce the consumption of fried food
Along with this its necessary to take fibrous food i.e Avocados, good amount of Flax Seeds & Cucumber.
In Iron Rich food you can take dark green leafy vegetables , Apples,
If you’ll keep all this point in your mind and will take this type of diet
Take frequent meals instead of having long gaps in the meals but it should be in small portion.
Since you have reduce the consumption of Alcohol, Caffeine & Fried food items
Then you have lot of good alternatives like Herbal Teas.
If you are already taking Green Tea it will help you in the weight reduction
Because it has good anti-oxidants and also it will not effect your digestion.
I hope if you’ll follow these tips then you’ll be able to maintain your weight.
Also if you are overweight then surely you’ll be able to reduce it.
Also try to minimise the intake of sugary food items .
