And today for the new year we are making the ULTIMATE KETO PIZZA.
Uh, say whaaaat?
What does the Ultimate Keto Pizza mean?
It means it’s got all the ultimate keto ingredients.
It means it’s got…
BACON.
Alright, so we’re gonna be
making a crust out of bacon.
A bacon weave.
So we’re weaving the bacon together to make a crust!
I’ve never done this but I’ve weaved pies before, so I’m just gonna…
Pie weave.
Don’t do anything until you, uh…

This is NOT a nonstick foil.
So we have our first single layer.
To do the weave, the complicated part, we are going to take every other slice
and bring it back.

Okay. but, is it…uh…and it’s…

Alright!
It’s really not that complicated.
To demonstrate, I’m a visual learner, so this is how I have to…

But, keto, if you don’t know, it’s pretty
much a low carb lifestyle, which both of us
have experimented with, but don’t strictly follow.
But, since it’s a new year and we know a lot of people are
doing low-carb, we thought that this
would be fun.
So, if you want information on what a keto diet is, I do have one on our other channel,
Mind Over Munch. We have a keto video. And I’ll tell you all about it. So,
into the oven it goes!
We’re prepping our toppings.
And our sauce. So, what’s our sauce?
Well, soon to be avocados.
Let’s all take a minute to admire how
messed up this avocado is.
We’ve had it for a few days and I hope it’s not brown.
Alright. Onion time.
Yeah, don’t forget to put on your freaking onion goggles.
*GASP*
I just like little thin slices on my pizza,
but also on just everything.
Now it’s time to mash the, uh…the avocado.
For the sauce!
You know, you probably don’t need to say it, they’ll just see it and they’ll see what you’re doing.
I put some salt and pepper there and some garlic paste.
Whisk it up.
I’m just cutting a bell pepper now.
With a way-too-big chef’s knife.
This is a…potent pepper!
I’m questioning.
I think it need a little lime juice!
And now it’s time for the Pizza Fact of the Day.
OOOOOOOOH-WEE!
The phrase “bringing home the bacon,”
which now means, uh…
Bringing home the mon-ey.
Making, making money.
Makin’ the moo-lah.
The…the…
The CHA-CHING!
The phrase was coined in 12th
century England, where the church would
reward any man who swore before God that
he and his wife had not argued for one year
and one day. And they would reward
you with a side of bacon.
I don’t believe that.
And so you’re bringin’ home the bacon,
folks!
Literally.
Everyone just lied about that, for sure.
Why not?
Bacon’s great.
Also…
How could they know!
Interesting additional fact:
Bacon can be considered an addictive food because
it contains six different types of umami,
and because umami flavor gives your brain a reward when you eat it…
…uh…
…you keep wantin’ more, so…maybe that’s why those who love bacon are true bacon fanatics.
Alright, we’ve got our crust, so let’s
SAUCE IT UP!
And now it’s time to top the pizza.
Ooh! Top it up, top it up.
And now it’s time to top the pizza.
*SINGING* Top it uuuuuuuup!
And, a keto favorite:
pecans!
And of course some cheze.
I have to say, I’m pretty impressed!
This looks really good.
Looks like a pizza!
And now it’s time to Eat The Pizza.
YAAAY!
Oooooh, it’s good, though.
It’s REALLY good.
Mmmmmmmm!
It’s SALTY.
Because bacon is salty and we…almost every other element on it is salty.
I don’t know if I, um…
really notice the nuts, but I actually like the crunch.
Yeah!
Like, I don’t know if I noticed the
flavor of the nuts that much, but I like the texture.
Avocado and bacon, always a win.
I love raw red onion on everything,
but I especially love it with avocado, so for
me, that’s a win.
Sauteed mushrooms, prime.
I’m…the pepperoni, I don’t think it needs the pepperoni.
We already got the bacon.
We already got the bacon.
But, I mean everything else is delicious and
this weave crust is really fun.
Ohhh it’s so yummy!
I think the avocado sauce is probably my
favorite part of the whole thing.
Makes it.
Like a neutrality to kind of combat the saltiness a little bit.
Man, that’s a greasy pizza!
A grea-zza!
