True Food Kitchen: Clean, Healthy Eating in Ballston Quarter
– Hi, I’m Libby Bish
at the Keri Shull Team,
and today, I’m outside of True Food,
which focuses on healthy eating
here in Ballston Quarter.
Come check it out.
(warm electronic music)
– The True Food Kitchen is based off
an anti-inflammatory diet.
Our mission statement is that we want
to bring people together to eat better,
feel better, and celebrate
a passion for better living.
We just put a lot of care
into all of our ingredients.
We try and, you know,
get ingredients that
are farmed sustainably.
We always, you know,
get something from our reputable source.
– So tell us why these
meals are your favorite.
– Yeah, absolutely.
Right over here, we have
the chard cauliflower.
It has a really great
harissa tahini sauce on it.
It comes with dill, pistachio, and mint.
It’s really good, a lot of great flavor
on that dish for sure.
We have have our poke bowl,
we have raw albacore tuna on this one.
My favorite part about this dish
is the tumeric ponzu
sauce we have right here.
It has quinoa rice, it has cucumbers,
pickled ginger, watermelon radish.
There’s a lot to like about this dish
and there’s a lot of great summer flavors
as well in that dish.
Right here, I have a tomato
and watermelon salad.
We use heirloom tomatoes,
their DNA is from before 1950,
so that way, we don’t want any, like,
changed DNA that goes into the tomato,
which is really cool.
It has that same tumeric ponzu sauce,
one of my favorite things on the menu.
It’s been a huge hit this summer.
And then one of our most popular items
at all of our restaurants
is our ancient grains bowl right here.
It’s a great blend of
quinoa rice and farro,
miso-glazed sweet potatoes,
This dish is really great
and it’s perfect, let’s
say, if you’re dairy free,
it’s a perfect dish for a vegan as well.
Right here, we have a medicine man drink.
We have our pomegranate
chia limeade right here.
This is one of our favorites here,
it’s called the hangover prescription.
Then we also have our lavender iced tea,
this is for our summer menu.
And the lavender tea has just
that really fresh lavender taste to it.
Here in our Ballston location,
we just opened up two
and a half months ago.
This is our 28th store
for True Food Kitchen.
We’re hitting the east
coast hard right now.
For me, personally, I really
enjoy just working here.
We really care about, you know,
giving great customer service every time.
I think, you know, if you can
treat someone with respect,
give them a great product,
and just really enjoy all of that,
that goes a long way.
