friendly super foods that you’ll want to
add to your diet immediately for a
healthier life

about what a superfood is how they tie
into the keto diet and which ones are our favorites
the term superfood packs a powerful
punch and to be honest it kind of makes
me want to do this yep
much better simply put superfoods are so
densely packed with nutrients that they
can positively sway and impact our
health specifically they contain
micronutrients which are vitamins and
minerals that keep our bodies healthy
take vitamin A for example it’s
essential for vision and skin health and
one more deficient it can lead to vision
problems in the long run so for an
optimal diet you want to consume an
array of micronutrients throughout the
day and week to keep your body properly

superfoods are packed with
micronutrients they can also be
classified as macronutrients and
macronutrients are what all food is made
up of the three macronutrients
are proteins fats and carbohydrates
superfoods vary in terms of their
primary macronutrient for example salmon
olive oil and leafy green vegetables are
all considered keto friendly super foods
salmon is a protein olive oil a fat and
leafy greens are carps which leaves us
at the perfect place to dive into how
superfoods fit into the ketogenic diet
for those of you just hearing about the
keto diet for the first time it’s a high
fat moderate protein and low carb diet
when following keto your carb intake
goes down to around 20 to 50 grams per
day so not all superfoods our keto
friendly sweet potatoes and quinoa for
example are packed with micronutrients
and are considered superfoods but
they’re also high in carbs so these are
good to eat just not on keto the good
news is that for those following keto
finding low carb superfoods isn’t hard
let me show you seven of our favorites
number one dark leafy greens dark leafy
greens are both a superfood and a staple
of the keto diet low carb and packed
with vitamins and minerals like folate
zinc calcium iron vitamin C vitamin K
and fiber I eat them all the time
they’re highly anti-inflammatory
collagen boosting and may also be cancer
fighting dark leafy greens include kale
Swiss chard spinach lettuce and arugula
non starchy vegetables like these can
even help people monitoring their blood
sugar or those with type 2 diabetes
whether you cook them with olive oil or
add them to a salad the cooking options
are endless keto superfood number two
berries berries are packed with vitamins
minerals fiber and antioxidants they’re
also a treat for people on keto who want
a little something sweet strawberries
raspberries blueberries and blackberries
help reduce inflammation and the risk of
heart disease based on a number of
scientific studies in addition to being
heart healthy and fiber rich some
evidence also shows berries can even
help treat various suggestive and immune
related disorders it’s important to note
that you want to limit your berry intake
on keto even blueberries probably your
best choice due to their low sugar
content still have sugar in them so you
want to make sure you’re counting your

salmon one of my favorite proteins and
keto friendly super foods is salmon
while there are other great proteins out
there salmon ranks at the top in my book
it’s a source of healthy fats full of
omega-3 fatty acids protein B vitamins
and potassium and research shows it can
lower the risk of heart disease diabetes
and help you maintain a healthy weight
salmon will fill you up help your
muscles rebuild fuel your brain and
easily fits into a keto diet keto super
foods number 4 eggs
another great protein is eggs now in the
past eggs have gotten a bad rap for
boosting your cholesterol but this has
been shown as a myth in recent years
eggs are packed with A and B vitamins
choline selenium iron and phosphorus
they also have a lot of protein and you
can do so many things when cooking with them
hard-boiled eggs scrambled eggs fried
eggs the list goes on and on
keto superfood number 5 garlic I’m pretty
sure I don’t have to tell you how great
garlic is and we all know it makes
everything taste better but the reason
garlic is considered a superfood is
because it’s full of manganese
vitamin c vitamin b6 selenium and fiber
in fact it is been thought of as
medically beneficial for centuries for
its antibacterial and antiviral
properties
Kito superfood number 6 avocado ok we’ve
touched on micronutrient dense foods and
proteins now onto some fats you see
since keto is a high fat diet this next
superfood has the potential to be a very
good friend of yours avocados offer a
liberal dose of fiber vitamins minerals
and are packed with B vitamins and
vitamin C they also pack plenty of
folate and potassium and are considered
a monounsaturated fat which is
classified as the good fat that helps
lower bad cholesterol I love putting
them on salads and honestly just eating
them on their own as a keto friendly
snack

let’s wrap up with one more fat you may
already love using it but did you know
that olive oil is a superfood like
avocados olive oil contains high levels
of monounsaturated fats known as the
good fat for its health benefits and may
also reduce inflammation olive oil is
the smart healthy choice compared to
other less healthy options like vegetable
oil when cooking up dishes on the keto
