Slim Twin Cookies & Cream Review | Low-Carb Ice Cream | Keto-Friendly

July 29, 2019 18 By William Morgan

All right, guys. I’m back with another ice
cream review. It’s Slim Twin’s Cookies &
Cream. Gonna review it right after this!
Hey, guys. Welcome to A.D. Keto. My name is Aaron. This is the channel where you can
watch a weird dad work his way through
the ketogenic diet. I do some keto eating
vlogs, I do some keto product reviews, and I do some keto giveaways. If this is your
first time here, please consider
subscribing, and if you do, make sure
you’re on Notification Squad by clicking
the bell. So I’m continuing to make my
way through Slim Trimmemmn’z… line up,
with Cookies & Cream. As you may or may
not know, I break my reviews into four
parts. I talk about the texture of the
ice cream. That’s what’s most important
to me. How does it feel coming out of the
pint? How does it feel going into the
mouth? (That’s what she said). Then I talk
about the flavor. Do I like it? Does it
meet my expectations? I’m expecting this
to taste like Oreos. We’ll see what it
does taste like. I’ve got pen on my hand.
The third part of the review is the carbs.
How’s it looking, how’s it stacking up
with the other guys in Slim Twin’s lineup
as far as the carbs go? And then the
fourth part I talk about is the
ingredients, and how those are looking.
So let’s get into it! This is Slim Twin’s
Cookies & Cream flavor. I don’t know how I got
that pen on my hand. It’s really
upsetting me. Okay.
As always, they’ve got a cool…I’m splashing myself with frost. Off to a bad start.
Oh! There you go. There is Cookies and/or Cream. Looks good. Looks very good.
Let’s see how we do with the texture.
It’s a touch… touch on the frosty side.
This has been out of my freezer for
about a half an hour. Texture is actually
pretty good. I think maybe just this… I’m gonna try out to get around the outside here.
I find that that’s where it gets melted
most quickly. A little bit of frostiness
to it. You know, in general, I find
that the longer you leave these
things out, the better. It’s really
shocking to me how long you have to
leave some of them out. Half an hour
might be a little too quick to have
popped the lid on this guy. Yeah.
Texture needs some more time. So I give it
a pass there again, because I jumped the
gun. The flavor, however, it’s pretty good.
There are pretty good big pieces… big
chunks of what appear to be Oreo stuff.
Very doughy. You know, it’s like cookie
dough — dark chocolate cookie dough. So I
do like the taste. It’s not quite that
rich Oreo flavor I was hoping for, but I
can taste… you know, something similar to that, for sure. All right, let’s get into
the carbs. 13 grams of total carbs, 3
dietary fiber, 3 sugar alcohols. So, at 7
grams of net carbs per serving, this is
on the high end for Slim Twin. this is 28
grams of net carbs per pint. That might
be the highest I’ve had from them yet.
That is a little higher than I like to
go. So I probably wouldn’t be eating this
whole thing in one sitting.
I’d parse it out. So let’s take a look at
the ingredients. Nonfat milk, chocolate
cookies (which are wheat flour, powdered
sugar, sunflower oil, cane sugar, cocoa
(which is processed with alkali), cocoa…
again, baking soda, salt, vanilla extract).
So that’s… those were the ingredients of
the chocolate cookies. Then you’ve got
egg yolk, milk protein concentrate,
erythritol, soluble tapioca fiber, cream,
vanilla extract, cane sugar. Why is cane
sugar in here twice? Oh, because cane sugar was in the chocolate cookies. They listed
that separately. Locust bean gum, monk
fruit extract, the asterisk next to
nearly all of these ingredients means
organic. Like I said before, organic or
not, cane sugar is cane sugar. So the
carbs situation,
coupled with the ingredients situation —
not sure that this would be high on my
list of ice creams to go after when I’m
at Whole Foods. This might be near the
bottom of the list when I rank these, but
you know? In moderation, this could very
well work for me. Could very well work
for you. If you’ve had it, let me know
what you think. Tell me down in the
comments. That’s gonna wrap it up for
this video, guys. I hope you enjoyed it.
Thank you for watching, thank you for
subscribing. I hope you have a fantastic
day, and I will see you next time.
I’m gonna move this microphone much
closer. Keep it coming… there it is. Back
it up. Back it up. Back it up. Get BACK! ckckck. There. Nice audio. NICE AUDIO.
