Rhonda’s Ultimate Micronutrient Smoothie October 25, 2019 100 By William Morgan CategoryArticles 100 Comments FoundMyFitness says: May 30, 2016 at 6:17 pm This video now has a sequel! Go see my new recipe at https://youtu.be/JLQ63y5aTpo In addition to offering some modest changes on this recipe, I also focus on the beneficial "hormetic" compounds that are NOT micronutrients. These compounds are known as polyphenols, flavonols, and phytochemicals. I also talk about fermentable fiber and other prebiotics that feed beneficial bacteria in the gut that are present in the vegetables and fruits. Additionally, I explains why I've started adding hydrolyzed collagen powder to my smoothie and talk a little bit about something some folks seem to be concerned about: "anti-nutrients." So while the RDA is in the smoothie our body will not necessarily absorb it. Is that true? Also, with something like Vitamin C, don't we need to get that through out the day, not just in one serving? Reply Danilo Vega says: October 5, 2019 at 1:14 am What combination would be best to only fight cancer cells? Reply Tracy Eaves says: October 5, 2019 at 12:42 pm Everything DR Fuhrman spoke about decades ago!!! Reply Immortal says: October 5, 2019 at 1:56 pm LMAO are you crazy??? All the evidence for this, which is weak, is based on rats which were already sick e.g. had type 2 diabetes etc… eating something which responds aggressively to oxidative stress "seems" like a good thing in sick rats. However, what you are failing to question is why on earth is e.g. kale, triggering that response? Do you honestly believe that the kale is doing that to help you stay healthy? LOL. We have no idea why but logically it is because plants don't want you picking at their leaves and eating them. Strong studies show that plants release "chemical weapons" to deter predators. We have no idea about the full extent of what is in those plants that some people think are so healthy because they trigger your body to activate its own defence systems. I used to guzzle down kale smoothies too and the only thing I noticed from it was weight loss. Weight loss itself is fantastic for lowering obesity and thus CVD and Type 2 diabetes and some cancers. However, there are other ways of losing weight without shoving plants down your throat which could very well be slightly toxic, not to mention they even taste toxic!!! Hence why we generally need to mix them with the glucose and fructose of fruits to cover it up. Also, all those precious micronutrients mentioned in this video, you are hardly getting any of them from all those antinutrients (phytates) you're taking in. Not to mention the poor conversation rates of plant micronutrients to a form that we can actually use. I guarantee, a lot of that smoothie is coming straight out her backside every day, and getting in the way of many other important molecules, undiscovered ones too, that the body needs. K1???!!! Jesus nobody in the USA is deficient of vitamin K at all as they are taking in plenty of the ready to use form K2! K1 is again a poorly absorbed and converted molecule. God sake, lycopene??!! If you actually read the studies it is all assumption based, which assume its good for the arteries. A lot of the studies fail to take into account the overnight fast they give the participants before the blood tests and they always fail to mention what diet they were given AND how much weight they lost or gained? Whatever the diet was, it was likely healthier than what they were used to eating hence the cardiovascular disease they had or were at risk of. Everything mentioned in this video is based on really weak or bad studies. The only thing we are sure of is keeping yourself at a healthy weight and keeping your blood glucose under control, that's about it!! Reply Elliotc12 says: October 5, 2019 at 8:10 pm Warning: spinach and chard have very high levels of oxalic acid, which can contribute to kidney stones. It may not be wise to eat lots of spinach every day. Kale is relatively lower in oxalates, so should be fine. Reply Milkias Gebreyesus says: October 7, 2019 at 7:02 am can you just eat 50g grass fed beef liver and 10g fish roe? Reply George Yazbeck says: October 8, 2019 at 12:17 am Not enough fat to absorb all these nutrients.. and kale is rough on the kidneys. Also, how do we know that all of these vitamins and minerals are actually entering our system after digestion? How does the gut bacteria and acid react with these compounds? Reply Jørgen Fallet Mosand says: October 22, 2019 at 10:57 pm nooooooooooooooooooooo don't add the blueberries! red + green = brown. Just let it be a green smoothie. Looks matter with apetite. Green smoothie = yum, brown smoothie looks like sewer water. just have your blueberries in a red smoothie instead. Also I would not add flax seeds or apple. It makes the smoothie very thick. Use other nuts, and fruit instead. I like ginger, celery, parsley, and lime (with peel) for taste, carrot for vit A, orange juice for liquid, and any fruit I have, and some soy beans for protein, calsium, and zink, Add a bit turmeric for more yellow green <3 and maybe some iodine and vitD supps tabs. It has everything you need. Reply Phil Adams says: October 24, 2019 at 9:41 am I had 4 of these yesterday. Overdose!
