Parmesan Basil Baked Zucchini Chips Recipe – How to Make Zucchini Chips

We’re Adam and Joanne from inspiredtaste.net
and welcome to our kitchen.
We’re making our Parmesan Basil Baked Zucchini
Chips!
We serve these as an appetizer, side or snack.
Kids and adults both go crazy for them!
To start, we’ll need to slice zucchini into
1/4-inch thick rounds.
Yellow summer squash works here, too!
Instead of using the traditional three part
breading method with flour, egg, and breadcrumbs,
we simply coat the zucchini rounds with some
oil.
We just toss them together in a bowl.
For the breading, we need shredded cheese
— I’m using parmesan, but other hard cheeses
like pecorino and even cheddar cheese work,
too.
Just add it to a bowl with breadcrumbs.
Next, we need fresh herbs — I’m using
basil.
Again, you can always substitute with what’s
available to you.
And finally, we need a little garlic powder,
salt, and fresh ground black pepper.
By the way, for a gluten-free version, swap
the breadcrumbs for crushed gluten-free cereal,
potato chips or leave the breadcrumbs out
completely and increase the cheese.
As always, you can find the full recipe with
lots of tips on Inspired Taste!
Now we need to coat the rounds.
To do it, press them into the cheese coating
— they won’t be completely covered, but
that’s okay.
Place each zucchini round onto a baking sheet
and if you have any leftover, sprinkle the
the remaining breadcrumbs and cheese coating
on top.
Bake the chips until the coating is browned
and crisp.
Then just before serving, sprinkle a little
more fresh basil on top.
And that’s it, simple baked cheese zucchini
chips.
I dare you to eat just one!!
I certainly can’t.
Enjoy!
