Hello everyone, My name is Priti Nath Guru & today I’ll talk about Overweight and Obesity. I often found people confused in analysing difference between an overweight and an obese person. So today we’ll talk about, that which person should be considered overweight and which should be obese. And what are the side effects of being obese. Every person should have his target weight according to his age and height. If he’s lower than that weight, he’s called underweight person And those who are higher in weight, they known as overweight person Let me explain this with an example If a person whose weight should be 60 kg as per his age and height. So whether he’s considered as an overweight person if his weight is 60.1 or 60.5 kg No its not like that, because every person has its target weight If I’am talking about the person whose weight is 60 kg If his having 10% more weight on 60 kg i.e 6% of his actual weight Although that person comes under normal category but still he should try to maintain his weight If he is overweight up to 10-20% That means if the person’s weight is 66 kg or 72 kg That person is called overweight but if his weight is increasing more than 20% That person comes under the category of obese person. Category obese is known as obesity in which different categories are defined. It has obese 1-2-3 category. Obese Category -1 comes on 20%, , Obese Category – 2 comes on 30% & Obese Category .-3 comes on 40% So Obese Category 3 is a very alarming stage but the person should be careful when he’s overweight Because as soon your weight and obesity increases The chances of other diseases associated with it also goes higher. For example :- Diabetes, Hypertension & Heart Attack. All these problems get increased along with the obesity Especially if your maximum weight is on tummy area then chances of these problems are likely to be more. Apart from this there are different parameters to look upon this. Because sometime a person is overweight but due to his Excess muscle mass even being overweight he’s considered as normal. For this there is a parameter called BMI “Body Mass Index” & according to the Fat Percentage. For Fat percentage BCA “Body Composition Analysis” is done. Hence now a days different tests are being conducted Accordingly a person is define as an overweight or an obese person. For that I’ve shared the best method with you and a normal person can do it at home That is according to their age and height. For other parameters you should consult a good professional Who can guide you about your Fat percentage also he’ll conduct the test and accordingly will guide you.
