What we’re gonna share about in the next 30 minutes
is gonna tell you a little bit more about
what OPTAVIA has to offer.
For those of you that have just joined in, welcome.
For those of you that are sticking around,
we’re excited that you’re gonna stick around
and learn a little bit more about
what OPTAVIA is bringing forth in the world.
OPTAVIA stands for the optimal way of living.
OPTAVIA has actually transformed
lots of different lives in lots of different ways.
And we’re gonna talk a little bit more about
some of those stories tonight.
As you see on the logo, there is
24 radians in the actual logo that make a circle.
And that stands for creating optimal days.
What Dr. Andersen, the co-founder of OPTAVIA,
was really striving for,
was helping people to bring more well-being in their life.
And that’s what the word, trilogy, stands for.
Healthy body, healthy mind, and healthy finances.
And that’s the full offering of OPTAVIA.
You’re gonna get a chance to learn more about it tonight.
Ten years ago, my own personal journey was,
is that I was looking to lose some weight.
I wasn’t really interested in
creating optimal health and wellbeing.
I just wanted to get rid of the weight problem.
But what I found in the process of losing over 100 pounds
and transforming the way that I thought about health
was there was a lot of other stuff
that was happening in my life
that was leading me to the idea of eating unhealthy
and not exercising.
And what I was awakened to
with this process of getting healthier
was that I could actually not only get healthier physically,
but I could get healthier mentally
and I could get healthier financially.
Now when I first started this journey,
I didn’t have any of that in mind.
So if you’re in a position right now
where you’re thinking,
“I’m not even sure that I’m qualified to be a health Coach,
“I’m not even sure that I can actually talk to people
“intelligently about nutrition or exercise
“or any of that.”
You’re okay.
We all start at where we’re at
and we learn over time how simple it is
to connect people to a process
that can get them healthier without having to be
this very complicated process to teach them.
You see, Dr. Wayne Andersen is
the 10th physician board certified in critical care
and he spent 20 years in critical care medicine
learning how to save people’s lives.
He was actually the valedictorian of his medical class
and he had a tremendous amount of time in the operating room
trying to save people’s lives
because of some unhealthy lifestyle habits
that most of them had attracted
because of choices that they made.
And what Dr. Andersen found was
that he was down at the end of the waterfall
and he was trying to catch people
as they came over the waterfall and save them.
And he wanted to move upstream.
He wanted to be able to teach people to
get out of the river of bad health habits
and help them to climb the mountain of optimal health.
But he know he needed a better system to do it.
The healthcare system wasn’t going to help him do it
because it wasn’t created for that.
It was created to react to disease.
So Dr. Andersen partnered with our parent company,
who had a rich medical heritage
and had a very illustrious past of
other people being very successful in losing weight.
But what they didn’t have was the idea of having a Coach
and actually having a lifestyle program
to sustain their change.
So Dr. Andersen partnered with a parent company
and actually brought them the Habits of Health System
and his amazing insights on
how to help people to learn to overcome their barriers
with the help of a health Coach and a turnkey system
that was going to help them to learn Lifelong Transformation,
One Healthy Habit at a Time.

We’re now seeing so many people that are
struggling with weight related issues
and lifestyle related diseases,
that we are in need, in desperate need,
of more people to rise up and start learning how to
encourage others and guide them on this very simple process
called the Habits of Health System
that Dr. Andersen’s created.
Our Four Components of our program
is what we really makes our program stand out
from many other programs out there in the marketplace.
Many of the people that are on this webinar tonight
have probably heard or maybe seen or even done something
that has to do with helping other people
to do some other service

but what we’re doing is so different
than any of those things

including their own.
So when a Client comes in to our program,
every Client gets a Coach.
The Coach’s role is not to teach an individual,
it’s to guide an individual
to learn how to adopt the Habits of Health
from the Habits of Health System in the OPTAVIA program.
OPTAVIA Coaches are not health professionals,
but majority of our Coaches are lay people.
People that don’t have a background in medical science,
but have a real passion towards helping people
to overcome their barriers and to live a healthy lifestyle.
And what’s great about it is,
Dr. Andersen’s Habits of Health System
makes it so easy for us
that all we have to do is simply
guide people through the process
and let Dr. Andersen coach them
to optimal health and well-being.
With an app, a book that’s like a reference book,
a LifeBook which is kind of like a diary or a journal,

make it really turnkey for anybody to
start helping people to get healthier
and what a great way
for you to personally advance your own health
is to help other people to get healthier.
That’s why a lot of our Coaches do it.
The third element of our program, or third component,
is our OPTAVIA Community.
Our Clients are plugged into a Community
so that they have moral and social support.
One of the major factors,
why a lot of people struggle with their health is,
they don’t have a healthy support system.
So we don’t have to help people to go out there
and create a massive shift in their social structure,
we can just plug them in to our OPTAVIA Community
and give them access 24 hours a day, seven days a week
to all the amazing virtual support resources
including access to a licensed nutritionist
or registered dietician.
And those are amazing resources that
are things that save people a lot of money
from having to go out there and pay for those services
and they get them at no charge for being an OPTAVIA Client.
The fourth component of our program is the Fuelings.
This makes healthy eating really simple.
What we do in our program is
we teach people to eat every two to three hours.
And for those people that would like a simple meal plan,
we provide them with a very simple structure
where the meals are actually provided
to the doorstep of their house,
they don’t have to plan and purchase,
prepare them and portion size them.
They don’t have to count calories, points, or carbs.
They just simply eat every two to three hours
and drink a glass of water.
Those types of simple systems create
very predictable results.
And so a lot of our Clients are really impressed
with those initial results
which helps them to awaken themselves
of what they’re capable of.
All of our Fuelings have all the macronutrients in them
and they’re already pre-designed
so that you don’t have to count
all of the carbohydrates or the protein.
You just simply eat.
And by doing so, you get healthier.

The best part about it that I like
is that we’re actually giving people
optimal health and well-being

Some people may have a small investment
if they’re buying cheap, processed food

to create optimal health and wellbeing
and the trilogy of optimal health in her life.
Shantelle, welcome to the webinar.
Thank you so much David for having me on.
I am really excited to share this story
because you were spot on
on those three things that this program has brought to me
in coaching.
I actually started coaching about eight years ago
and I was a fitness instructor.
So I was very much passionate about health
and I loved to see how people could really
make that change in their life and transform.
But I soon realized after an hour long class
that oftentimes it wasn’t really enough
for them to make lasting change.
And so I quickly realized that
there was a little bit more to it
and I had several friends actually that did this program.
I knew a health Coach and they were coaching
several of our mutual friends.
And I saw them and I thought,
there’s something different about these people
that it’s not just a diet and they’re not just losing weight
and gaining it back.
And the way that they look, they look healthy.
And so I was really, I saw it from the outside
knowing that it was amazing and wanting to look into it.
And so when my friend reached out to me,
I thought this is maybe a way
for me to really make an impact.
I was actually helping people on the side
just with my own knowledge.
Just a few friends and family,
trying to put together some resources for them
to be healthy.
Just because I wanted to help.
And when I was given OPTAVIA wrapped in a package
and given this training and this amazing opportunity,
it was like finally I had all of the resources in one place.
It was a breath of fresh air, I’ll tell you.
And the past eight years have been amazing.
I have absolutely loved being able to share this
with so many people.
I will say though, I can relate
to a lot of you guys chatting in the chat.
Just a few minutes ago, I was scrolling through
reading all this and it kind of took me back.
Because I remember when my friend reached out to me
that I was excited, I saw the potential,
but I had a lot of self doubt.
I thought, who am I?
Exactly what somebody said in there.
Who am I?
Gosh I’m way too busy.
I had just had my third baby at the time,
couple months old.
Now I have five kids (laughs).
And I think, oh gosh, I was not busy at all (laughs).
But back then I thought I was so busy.
I was actually pretty young at the time.
I thought, who am I to coach?
Who am I to coach somebody older than I am?
I graduated in a totally different field.
I had all of these self doubts
that I thought, how could I even make a difference?
And I remember just thinking, you know what?
What would it hurt if I just tried?
Even if I could help one person, what would that do?
So I jumped in and I started helping one person.
And it is incredible to see that ripple effect
and just see how that little bit of trusting the program
and the process, that is what has helped.
That is what has turned into where we are today.
And it’s so fun now, my husband has joined in.
And the healthy body, healthy mind, and healthy finances,
all three of those areas, if you were to score,
if I were to put a score on it before and now
life changing in every single category.
I thought I was a healthy person before
but you are never done with your health.
And I actually get kinda scared thinking about
if I would’ve been on that trajectory
of thinking that I had health all together
because we know how that turns out.
And this program, even though I was a healthy person,
it has helped me to become ultra healthy and optimize that.
So it really is for everybody.
Healthy mind?
Are you kidding me?
I wish I had a before and after picture of my mind
because the personal development,
the way that I think, my processor, just everything.
My relationship with food, the relationships around me.
If you have read one page in the life book,
and the Habits of Health book that Dr. A has written,
you know this is not just what you put in your mouth
or your physical health.
So that has been a huge element.
Healthy finances?
Life-changing there.
It is the abundance of being able to
feel like you have, versus a scarcity mentality,
it has just been such a blessing in our lives
and I am so glad I took that little leap of faith
and just said, you know what?
I’m gonna try with one person.
And who knows where that can lead us?
Who knows what ripple effect that’s gonna affect?
So I am grateful to have been
given this opportunity and to hear,
and everything that David has talked about is spot on.
So good.
I love hearing your story, Shantelle,
because you know people come from lots of different walks
when they come into this coaching
and some people have a high level of health
and some people were like me.
They were a recovering, morbidly obese gentleman
who was just trying to figure it out.
So if you’re in a position right now
where you’re thinking I don’t know enough
or you know, some people I saw in the chat message said,
I’m not good at selling and I’m not good at,
you know, pushing products or things of that nature.
And if that’s what you think that this is, stay tuned
because I think that some of the things
you’re gonna hear are gonna change your mind
because that’s not what we do at all.
What we do in the process of
helping a person to encourage others on their journey
is it helps to reinforce their decision to be healthy.
They also get a chance to make a difference in the world
and it’s actually very fun and rewarding.
I heard one person say, you know,
I don’t wanna add another thing to my plate.
Well, what OPTAVIA does in the Coach opportunity,
it actually cleans up your plate
and it helps you to organize your plate
so that it’s not overfilled.
It starts to give you a better sense of
understanding of what’s important to you
and how to organize your life around it.
And the fact that you’re getting compensated for
getting healthier and helping other people do the same,
it’s pretty exciting.
Because it becomes like a wellness program
where you’re incentivized to continue your journey
and continue to be healthy.
There’s lots of different roles
that you can play inside of OPTAVIA.
You could become a Coach
and just coach friends and family members to get healthy.
And be done with that.
You don’t have to coach a certain number of people.
You’re not pressured into doing more quotas
or standards or anything.
You’re just simply guiding the people that you want
on their journey.
You can also coach Coaches.
So if you have a passion for growing your influence
and becoming more of an influencer and a Leader,
you can actually begin to learn how to
not only coach people, but actually how to
coach and train other Coaches.
We need more Coaches.
And we need more Business Coaches who can train Coaches.
We also need more Business Leaders.

and I’m so excited to get a chance to
share his story with you ’cause for the last 18 years,
he has been pioneering this thing called
Health and Lifestyle Coaching with OPTAVIA.
And he’s got an amazing story to tell.
So Bryan, welcome to the webinar.
Hey Dave, thanks.
Can you hear me okay?
You bet.
All right, good (laughs).
Alright, well yeah I started 18 years ago
and that was me on the left.
Actually, I was a little bit heavier than that 18 years ago.
I was definitely 30 pounds plus overweight.
And when I got started,
my mindset wasn’t very good either (laughs).
I was in the middle of a contracting business.
I was a contractor and I worked up on roofs and ladders
and painted houses and did different things for people.
I had a good business going
but after 9/11 and some things happened,
my business started going like this
and my health started going like that.
And I jumped on this train and got healthy.
Within my first month, I was feeling better
than I’d felt in my life, I mean, really.
And I really was excited about sharing it as well
because I saw how simple it was for me to do it.
And I was like, if I can do this, anybody can do this.
It’s like, no problem here.
And so I became a Coach right away
and started sharing the program with other people.
Now we didn’t have the Habits of Health,
we didn’t have all the different things we have today,
we didn’t really have the Four Components,
we just had a Coach and basically some product.
So it was a way different kind of system back then
but as Dr. A developed the Habits of Health
and we developed a bigger community,
like the people on this call tonight, you know…
It was fun in the beginning
but it became even funner I think over time.
And it became better.
And I decided, like I said,
my business wasn’t going too good
and I think it was in 2002,
and things weren’t going real well
and I actually went through a business bankruptcy that year.
So I needed extra income.
I also needed a bigger purpose really
to help other people out.
I can’t think of anything better to do
than really helping another human being
achieve better health and achieve a better mindset
and really, better finances.
And so, when I started out,
I started working with other people,
it became really a fun thing for me
and I got more engaged, my life came back.
You saw the picture of my family up there
and I had four kids at the time
but then, sharing it again I guess,
then I had three more.
So we have seven kids and we actually have two grandkids.
I’m now 51, I started when I was 33.
But you know, life was very hectic being a contractor.
And I didn’t know anything about health.
So when people say, I don’t really know what to do.
You don’t have to know what to do.
You learn as you go.
And I think Shantelle said something
about personal development.
This is really a personal development course.
So if you wanna help yourself in a lot of different ways
and you want to help other people by
paying it forward to others and really helping them,
and honestly, that’s really one of the ways,
we can also keep off our weight
and help ourselves health wise,
is to pay it forward.
If we don’t do that, it’s real hard to stay on that track.
Right, Dave (laughs)?
You bet, that’s for sure.
Yeah, so I’m very excited about what we do,
what we’re doing right now.
But I definitely, the 18 years that I’ve been involved,
helped me tremendously in my life.
With my family, my friends,
definitely my financial situation is totally changed.
And we’ve been able to do a lot of traveling around
and really helping a lot of people out.
And we love the life that we have.
It’s a great way to really pay it forward like I said
and to enjoy all of the trilogy.
Healthy mind, body, and finances.
Oh, thanks so much Bryan.
I love hearing your story
and just the passion that you still have.
I mean, 18 years later, and you’re still
rocking your plan and really elevating your health
and taking it to the next level.
And just the idea of actually having a system
that has sustained you and your family for 18 years.
That’s a pretty impressive track record.
So if you’re wondering how this all works
is that it’s a very relational model.
It’s really about sharing and caring.
It’s not about selling and telling.
It’s all really about helping people
to become their optimal version of themselves.
And helping them become awakened to
the power they have within them.
Create that transformation.
Physically, mentally, and financially.
So if that makes you curious of how to do that on your own,
that’s where coaching can come in and help you.
You can also learn it for yourself and teach it to others.
You’re self-employed and you’re independent.
So nobody tells you when to work.
Nobody tells you what to do,
but you’re also in a position where
you control your own hours.
So if you want to do it in your spare time,
some people start with just the cracks of their day.
They’re very busy and they’re looking for a way to give back
or they wanna have a better opportunity
to sustain their own personal change
and so they start with just a few minutes a day
to help a few friends of family members to get started.
And then some people work into the part time nature
and then some will actually turn this into
a full time business opportunity
and provide for their family and for many others
by helping other people get healthy.
The startup cost is only $199
and the operating costs are extremely low.
Now there’s not any product or inventory
you’d have to hold on to.
There’s not high digit equipment
that you need to add to your plethora of office space.
A lot of people just start with a smartphone
and maybe a tablet or a computer
and everything else is virtual.
So you can go anywhere you want
and work wherever you wanna go.
You can travel.
Bryan’s been to Singapore, Hong Kong,
and travels all around the United States with his family,
just enjoying the wonderful sights of the USA.
And he gets a chance to be in business wherever he is.
And because there’s no monthly quotas or purchases required,
you can become a Coach and stay on as a Coach
for as long as you want
and not have to be obligated to
perform or do things you don’t necessarily wanna do
or you don’t wanna buy certain things.
You don’t have to do that.
That’s not what we’re all about.
One of the major distinguishable differences
in our business model versus others.
There’s also complete training and support
so everything is done for you.
You have an opportunity to learn as you go.
You have a mentorship team that actually
teaches and trains you as you go through the process
so that you don’t feel alone.
And the cool part is
is you actually get a chance to watch it take place
and while you’re learning,
you’re also getting a chance to earn additional income
for the holidays or for any particular need that you have.
And as you’re working through this process at your own pace,
you’re able to ask questions
and come to Community meetings like we’re doing tonight
