My (Kinda) Keto Father’s Day | Father’s Day 2018 Keto Haul

My (Kinda) Keto Father’s Day | Father’s Day 2018 Keto Haul

July 16, 2019 27 By William Morgan

I’m gonna be sharing with you in this
video an accounting of the events of
last Saturday, Father’s Day 2018 — showing you my Father’s Day Haul, talking a
little bit about what went on, and that’s
gonna start right after this!
Hey, everybody. Welcome to A.D. Keto. My name is Aaron. This is the channel where you can
watch a weird dad work his way through
the ketogenic diet. I do some keto eating
vlogs, I do some keto product reviews, I
do some keto giveaways. If this is your
first time here, please consider
subscribing, and if you do, make sure
you’re on notification squad by clicking
the bell. So guys, last weekend was
Father’s Day — MY day. It was altogether
wonderful. I slept in a little bit later
than I usually do, my kids came to greet
me with gifts in the morning, which was
super-nice, and I thought I would go over
some of the stuff that they got me. As
you may remember — may or may not remember — this guy up here,
Iron Man, who’s now resting comfortably
in that mug, was a gift from my son for
my birthday a little while ago. But he
broke. He had a little thing in the
center of his back that snapped off… and
his stand — he’s supposed to hover in
midair, and it just snapped. I couldn’t
get him to fit back together. So now
that’s his… that’s the place. That was from my son Peter. For Father’s Day, Peter hooked
me up with this guy. Yeah, baby!
Captain America bobblehead, Infinity War
Edition. Ruggedly handsome, bearded Steve Rogers. Yeah! So that’s super-nice. There’s
no breakable parts… easily breakable
parts, anyway. So he’s gonna go up here.
You go right there.
That was for my son Peter, who’s a big
Marvel Head, like me.
William approached me with a bag that
was very heavy, and put it down on my
chest as I lay in bed. In the bag were
these: four avocados, and this container
of ghee. My kids know their dad. And from
Caroline, a plush piece of bacon. I thought
initially that it was a sleep mask, which I
suppose I could use it for, but I gotta
find a good spot for this fella. So that’s
what I got from the kids. My wife Sara got
me a piece of luggage, which could be
interpreted one of two ways, but it’s the
good way. We’ve booked a trip in October
to the Dominican Republic! We will have
been married 20 years this coming
September. We’ve never been — in the past 20 years — away on a vacation by ourselves.
The last time we went anywhere was our
honeymoon, back in 1998. We went for three
days in Paris, took a train down to Nice, so this will be the first time we’ve gone
anywhere without the children in 20
years. The first time we’ve ever gone
anywhere tropical. I’m very excited. It’s
an all-expenses-type resort place, where
drinks are free, and food is free. So I
may be going off plan a little bit
this October. We will see how it goes. So
those were the gifts from the people in
my house. My mother and my in-laws each sent me an Amazon gift card, and I got
myself some stuff using those
gift cards, and those things arrived
today! I haven’t even opened this stuff
yet. I figured I’d open it right here
with you guys, which makes a really…
either really entertaining video or
incredibly boring video. So let’s see
what’s in this first package, because I
barely remember. I know I got myself a
few things. I really could use some
scissors. Stand by. All right. Tiny little guys. The
only scissors I could find. All right. You
know what? “Tear a perforation.” Let’s do
that.
These are doughnut molds. I am thinking
I’m going to be making some sort of
delicious keto-friendly… keto-friendly doughnuts sometime soon.
So got myself this mold. 2-pack. Boy, they
are…. uh yeah. It turned inside-out here.
There you have it. We got a purple. We got
a hot pink. Ooh, that is HOT pink. So I’ll
make some keto-friendly donuts with
these. I also got this box. I know there are
a few different items in here. Let’s dig
them out. So these are all kind of
YouTube and/or keto related things. The
first thing I got myself with those gift
cards is this. It’s a new tripod, because
I’m in desperate need of one. I’m gonna
have Caroline shoot a little bit of
video of what my current setup is. The
tripod that I’m using right now is a
Domino’s box on top of a footstool. And I
like it, because I’ve got one of those
little pop sockets in the back, and it
tucks under the lip of the dominoes box
really well. But it is completely ghetto.
So this is gonna be much better. This is
a Joby Grip Gorilla stand…
Gorilla Pod Stand Pro, bendable. Wrap it
around stuff if you need to. Thank you,
dear. Can you.. can you um… well, not right now. When I come up later you can Airdrop
it to me, okay? Thank you.
So yeah, Joby tripod. I have needed one
desperately for a long time. Second thing
I got is Keto Mojo! I have never once
tested my blood ketone levels or my
blood glucose, and I feel like I want to
do some sort of test with sweeteners,
like Wesley did one up there. And I think…
and I know that Keto Connect also did one. I wanted to see how my body reacts to
different sweeteners. This will help me
do that.
Keto Mojo. A lot of people use these. I
know that they’re relatively inexpensive.
I know the strips are a little bit more
expensive. I don’t know too much about it,
but I’m excited to check it out. Then the
third thing I got in this box is… odd. It
is a prism. It’s an analog crystal prism,
and I’m planning on using it to put in
front of my lens to get interesting
effects. You’re not really seeing what…
I’m not really getting what I’m after,
there. There are different ways to use
this. I mean, if you’re outside it’s gonna
give you different stuff if the sun is
shining through it. Right now, down here,
probably not so much. But you get the
idea. I want to kind of mess around with
some different artsy-fartsy looks. This
was relatively cheap. I saw that it can
work, so I just grabbed it. Interesting.
And then one more item that came today
is this. Let’s just dig it out of here,
and buy dig, I mean cut.
It is Lies My Doctor Told Me by Dr…
(as I drop it all over the place) by Dr.
Ken Berry. And if you’re watching this
video on the day it comes out, Friday,
June 22nd, if you head over to my
Instagram account at about 4:30 p.m., I’m
gonna be going live with Dr. Berry to
talk about some stuff. If you don’t know
who Dr. Berry is, he runs a family
practice in Tennessee. He’s all about
getting people off the Sandard American
Diet, or Stupid American Diet, as he likes
to say. He’s got some amazing videos up
here. Check them out. It’s Lies My Doctor
Told Me, by Ken Berry. I’m gonna try to
cram this in before I speak with him on
Friday. So those are the items I got for
myself with those gift cards. Pretty
sweet haul, and I’ll just talk a little bit
about what happened after that. Father’s
Day also happens to be the day on which
we celebrated my niece’s fifth birthday.
Sara, the kids, and I went up to my
brother-in-law’s house. We hung out, we
celebrated, and I ate a piece of cake.
A piece of regular cake. A little sliver.
And you know what? I don’t care. This is
the second piece of cake that I’ve had
in six months. The last time I had a
piece of cake was Sara’s birthday, back
in November, and I had just reached my
weight-loss goal at that time. I ate a
piece of cake, and then completely
overreacted, and fasted for about 50
hours. Didn’t go over so well! So I
decided to just take it easy this time. I
had a piece of cake, but then you know
what? The next day, I didn’t freak out.
I had bacon and eggs for breakfast. I had
steak for dinner. I’m back on track. And
that’s a huge thing. If you’ve been
eating this way for any length of time,
you get to know your body a little bit
better, and having a piece of cake for
your niece’s birthday is not going to
destroy all the progress that you’ve
made. Just get right back up on the horse,
start again the following day. Don’t overcompensate. Don’t punish
yourself. Stuff like that happens. Life
happens. Slip-ups happen, intentional or
non-intentional. You’re gonnat go off plan every now and
then. Don’t beat yourself up, and just
carry on as you normally would.
That is my piece of advice to you. So
that was my Father’s Day. Hope you guys
enjoyed hearing about it. It was very
enjoyable for me. I love my kids and my
family. They’re so good to me. And that’s
all the haul that I got! I’ll leave links
to all this stuff down in the
description, if you want to check them
out. That’s gonna wrap it up for this
video, guys. Hope you enjoyed it. I hope
you have a fantastic day, and I will see
you next time.
