My cheesecake although spectacular in flavour, was still extremely gooey and raw in the middle. For this recipe to be successful for at- home cooks that do not have access to commercial ovens the baking time and temperature need to be revised! For me, after putting the mix in the for 10 minutes at 400F, I had to bake it for 30 minutes on 275F for the cheesecake to get fully baked, otherwise the ingredients are perfect and the steps are very clear, it tasted great. I now know why the 1 1/2 cups of sugar because you added sour cream into the batter before putting it in the oven. I normally start with the basic recipe 1 egg and 1/4 cup of sugar per 8 oz. brick of cream cheese. I don't always make it with sour cream but I will do 5 bricks and add fresh lemon juice in the batter. I never have been a big fan of putting the fresh sour cream on top of the finished cheesecake but you did such a beautiful job that I may concede. I was most impressed with the temperatures that you used because I always make mine in a water bath. I want to try your method without the water bath to see if I can get these results.
