Keto Pizza Pocket Skulls – sugar free, grain free | Keto Recipes | Keto Halloween Treats

welcome to keto meals and recipes dot com, I saw these amazing skull shaped
individual pizzas or pizza pockets and I
thought they just looked absolutely
amazing and I had to make them so I did
a bit of research and found that the
manufacturer for the skull shaped pen
was Nordic Ware, and when I was shopping
at our local mall I found that the
williams-sonoma store carried them so of
course I bought one, but for your
convenience I have provided an Amazon
link in the description below that’s if
you want to buy this skull pan too I’m
going to use my grain free PITA done two
ways recipe for this pizza dough as I
did in my keto thin crust pizza and I
will also use my key to Italian marinara
sauce now that I built up quite a
repertoire of recipes I want to show you
how to use some of my existing recipes
to make new and fun and creative recipes
because this has been such a hit I have
made them quite a few times since buying
the Nordic Ware pan and this has helped
us to all get into a really good
Halloween mood after my initial
demonstration of how to make the classic
pepperoni pizza version I will also show
you three other pizza fillings that I
experimented with and tell you which
ones we liked and which ones we didn’t
and by the way one of them was a dessert
pizza that was a great hit I’ve
mentioned that I made this several
different times so of course I had to
experiment with technique and I will
explain which technique I think works the best
so let’s begin and have some
fun making this keto pizza pocket skull
and all of the recipes that I will
mention in this video will be provided
in the description below, the
macronutrient ratio for each skull is
3.2 to 1 with 47 grams of fat 25.4 grams
of protein 7.8 grams of
total carbs 3.4 grams of
dietary fiber and only 4.4
grams of net carbs per stuffed pizza
pocket skull this is a how-to video not
a new recipe video so the first thing
you have to do is prepare a full batch
of my grain-free pita made two ways as
per my ingredients and instructions
before beginning also coat the skull pan
with the melted coconut
this will make it much easier to pop out
the skull pizza pocket so after you’ve
made the green repeated oh and it has
rested form a ball and divide it into
six equal amounts then roll each part
into a ball and place it between two
pieces of parchment using your rolling
pin roll it out as thin as you can
possibly make it
and gently peel off the dough from the
parchment and place it into the skull
form leave a lot of slack as you’re
putting it in because you have to press
the dough into the Nordic Ware skull
form if you notice that tears appear as
you’re pressing the dough into place
take a small piece of the thinnest edge
of the dough that’s on the top of the
pan and use small pieces to make the
patches and just using the tips of your
fingers press them into place to get the
best shape make sure you press the dough
into the form pan so that when the
pocket is taken out you will have a
really well shaped skull after the
pressing the dough into place there are
two things you could do first I’ll show
you the second method which is the one
that I really advise you use and I
prefer, after pressing the dough into
place cut off the dough from the top of
the skull cavity take the leftover dough
and roll it into a ball and set it aside
later you will be using this leftover
dough for the top layer which will seal
your skull pocket, then repeat placing
the dough in the remaining five skulls
and while you’re doing this pre-heat
your oven to 180 degrees Celsius or 360
degrees Fahrenheit when you put the
dough into all six of your skulls place
the Nordic Ware pan into the middle
position of the oven and bake for 20
minutes remove the skull pan from the
oven and let the crust cool so that it
feels just barely warm to the touch and
now we’re going to prepare the pepperoni
pizza filling, the next part is to do the
keto pepperoni pizza filling for this
skull pizza pocket, first I place the
grated mozzarella cheese on top of the
cooled dough and press the cheese firmly
against the dough bottom and sides
next I place the sixth pepperoni slices on
top of the cheese slightly overlapping
each piece of pepperoni as I’m showing
here
next I spooned in 1 tablespoon of my
keto marinara sauce on top of the
pepperoni next I place the sauteed
mushrooms on top of the marinara sauce
and the last bit of the filling was to
place the Monterey Jack or if you prefer
just continue using the mozzarella
cheese on top of the mushrooms
now it’s time to add the top layer of dough, take
one of the reserved little balls that
you’ve made
and re-roll the dough, roll between two
sheets of parchment paper as you did
before and place on top of the filling
of the skull press the edges around the
filling and tuck it in so that the raw
dough is sticking to the pre-baked skull
dough once your dough is securely in
place and has made a good tight seal pat
gently to smooth out the surface
repeat until all six of your skulls have been
filled and covered in this way now place
the skull pan back into the middle
position of your preheated oven and bake
for 20 more minutes, when the timer goes
off remove the skull pan from the oven
and allow the skulls to cool in the pan
before you remove them from the Nordic
pan although it’s really great to eat a
pizza nice and hot I would strongly
suggest that you serve this fun and
delicious keto pizza pocket skull once
it has cooled slightly when it’s warm
and not hot and here we are
alas my poor Yorick, I hope you have fun
making these pizza pockets, and happy
Halloween everyone. As promised here are
a few observations that may help you
make a very successful great looking
pizza pocket the first time I made the
skull pockets I just made the dough
stuffed the skull and covered the open
side with the leftover dough and then
bake the whole thing in one go when I
remove the skull from the pan the dough
on the face was still very raw so I
placed the pizza pocket skulls on a
cookie sheet and had to bake them for
another 15 minutes because the dough was
still raw and was no longer in the form
pan the skull did not hold its shape and
the final skull shape was not well
defined I think you get much better
results when you pre baked the skull
shaped dough, and then added whatever
filling you desire in my opinion this
works extremely well. For a bit of
variety and because we’re having fun, so
in this last batch I made a margarita
pizza it was okay but I felt it was just
too bland for the keto pizza pocket
skull I didn’t really feel it was very
special at all I also prepared some
ground beef taco meat using my taco mix
seasoning,
and for the taco filled skull, I first
added the Monterey Jack cheese, and then
the seasoned taco mix, a layer of sauteed
onions, and sautéed red peppers, and some
fresh basil leafes
before covering them up with the rest of
the dough, I use this as my filling and
added some Monterey Jack cheese on top,
this was actually really good I would
definitely make this again and lastly I
also made a chocolate Nutella filling
for one of my dessert pizza pockets, for
this version I made a simple chocolate
ganache which I made by melting
unsweetened chocolate a bit of heavy
whipping cream and my sweetener, I did
this over a bain-marie and when the
chocolate was melted I poured it into
the skull swishing it around so that it
coated the entire inside of the skull,
then I let the chocolate cool for a few minutes
lastly then I added a couple tablespoons
of my keto Nutella as the center filling, and
then I poured the rest of my chocolate
ganache on top of the Nutella before
placing the top layer of the dough to
seal the skull, this dessert chocolate
Nutella pizza pocket was absolutely
amazing, I would HIGHLY highly recommend
this one and my family has already
requested to make this one again I think
next time I’ll add some strawberries or
raspberries in between the chocolate and
the Nutella
I think that would be really delicious
too, if you have bought this rather
expensive Nordic Ware skull pan there
are a lot of different desserts you can
make with it not just these pizza
pockets skulls here’s one last thing I
used my pan for sorry I forgot to take a
photo I used my key – lemon panna cotta
recipe and made a couple of really cool
panna cotta skulls they looked
absolutely amazing for one of the skulls
to make it look a little bit different I
also poured my cooked raspberry jelly
and glaze into the eye socket and nose
cavities, this made the skull look really
creepy it was so much fun, if you do make
these pizza pockets or you make other
desserts with these skulls you can also
use any of my cake recipes to make a
skull shaped cake with, please post it on
my Facebook page and share your amazing
creations I’d love to see them
So thank you for watching this video and I hope
to see you next time and if you haven’t
done so already please turn on your notification bell so that you will know when
