Keto-Friendly Starbucks | How to keep the carbs down at Starbucks
As I record this, it’s the day before
Thanksgiving 2017. I’ve been running
around the house all day, doing some meal prep, doing a ton of chores, cleaning up,
getting everything ready for tomorrow,
and I’m a little rundown. So gonna make a
run to Starbucks, starting now. Hey, guys.

wearing myself a little ragged today,
running around, doing chores, doing some
meal prep, getting everything ready for
Thanksgiving, which is tomorrow. I’m
recording this …today is Wednesday the
day before Thanksgiving 2017. I’ve just been running myself a little crazy today. It’s
time for some caffeine. So I’m gonna go
get Caroline, my trusty almost 12-year
old director of photography, and we’re
gonna take a trip to Starbucks. Sara just
got home! [Sara] And you just told me that now you’re gonna go to Starbucks. [Aaron] Yeah!
[Sara] To which I say, ‘”GET ME SOMETHING! GET ME SOMETHING!”
[Aaron] What’s it gonna be? [Sara] A grande skinny cinnamon
Dolce latte with an extra shot of
espresso. [Aaron} Keto-friendly, or no? [Sara] I don’t do keto. That will be five points, five
smart points, all right on my Weight
Watchers plan. [Aaron] You got it. So when we get there,
you can hop up in the front, but you gotta be in the back for now. I’m gonna have
to write down mommy’s order from my
phone, too. because I’ve already forgotten it.
Grande cinnamon Dolce latte with an
extra shot of espresso? So what food are
you looking forward to most tomorrow, dear? [Caroline] The croissants (uh-huh) and the mashed potatoes, (uh-huh)…
and the turkey. OK! Oh, and your Keto pumpkin pie. Yes, we made a keto pumpkin pie,

Yep, we’re gonna get that ready for
tomorrow morning. We have to
pick up some cauliflower and… I think I
have another kind of pumpkin at home. I
wanted to do something from Papa G Low Carb as well, because he has had
some amazing low carb Thanksgiving stuff, and I was planning on doing his pecan
pie. But we already have someone bringing a pecan pie, and it would be a little
overkill, I think. But I might make his
low-carb cookies for dessert, maybe. His
like, the ones with a little almonds in
the middle. Cuz they good!
Okay, so we’ve arrived at Starbucks, and
just a couple of things that I should
tell you guys before I place my order,
here. I normally get cold brew coffee.
it’s delicious, but they usually only
have it…they start making it in the
morning, and then once that batch is gone, it’s over for cold brew. You can’t get
it past a certain hour, once it’s gone. So
I may be forced to get myself an iced
coffee, and the most important thing to
remember when you’re getting an iced
coffee, or an Americano, or a latte, is to
ask for it without classic sweetener.
Classic… if you’ve say no classic when
your order at Starbucks, they’ll know
what you mean. Classic is the sweetener
that they put in almost all of their
drinks, and it’s not not at all Keto-friendly. It’s full of sugars and badness
for keto people. But it doesn’t appear in
cold brew so I never have to say that
when they order my cold brew. But if I
order an iced coffee or an Americano or
a latte, I always make sure that I tell
them I want “No Classic”, so they know what
that means. Another thing is that instead of
half-and-half I usually get my cold brew
with heavy whipping cream and then they
do have some sugar-free sweeteners and I usually get, depending on the size of the
drink, I almost never get the tall, almost
never get the Grande. It’s either Venti
or Trenta, and if I’m getting a venti, I
will throw in four pumps of whatever
flavor sugar-free sweetener. If I’m getting a Trenta, I’ll do five or six. So that’s
the plan. I have to get my wife’s order,
and Caroline what’re… you’re getting a
drink as well? And what’s it going to be?
You gonna get a lime refresher? And we
will pick up some cake pops, just because I’m a pushover.

All right, with an extra shot of espresso, OK. And then I’m gonna have a grande lime refresher.
The Grande Lime Refresher? Yep. OK.
And do you have any cold brew left? We do. Okay,
I would love a trenta cold brew with
light ice, heavy whipping cream, and five
pumps of sugar-free vanilla, please. You said five pumps? Yes. OK, anything else? And three cake pops.
Let me double-check because I know we are getting SUPER-low on our cake pops. OK. They are SUPER-popular.
All righty. YEAH. All right, I have snowmen, I have our peppermint brownie, and cookie dough.
If you have three snowman cake pops, I would happily take those, yes. And will that be all today?
That’s gonna do it. All right, you can come right on up. Thank you. Niice! I was worried that they
would be out of cold brew, and I was
gonna cry. I am a little worried about
the fact that it is 4:38 p.m. and I’m
about to have a gigantic iced coffee, but I’ve
got a lot of stuff to do tonight, so
maybe it’ll work out. Here are your cake pops. Thank you. Ooo, look at that!

Thanks. So here’s my guy Trenta cold
brew, five pumps sugar-free vanilla, with
heavy cream, and then light ice. This is
my go-to. This is what I get all the time
from Starbucks, and I’m gonna be up till
4 o’clock in the morning tonight, so… oh
