It’s AumSum Time.
Is eating too much protein bad?
Ya.
That’s why I eat chocolates.
Oh AumSum.
Protein helps build new cells and repair old
ones.
As it boosts muscle strength, high-protein
diets are beneficial for athletes.
However, eating just protein could be a bad
idea.
Firstly, full-fat dairy products and red meat.
Which are high in proteins also contain saturated
fat.
Studies suggest that saturated fat increases
bad cholesterol.
Thus increasing the risk of heart diseases.
Secondly, excess protein can cause damage
in people.
With preexisting kidney disorders.
Why?
Because the weak kidneys have to work harder.
To remove excess nitrogen found in proteins.
Thirdly, high-protein diet restricts our carbohydrate
intake.
So, through a process called ketosis.
Our body begins to breakdown stored fats to
produce energy.
But as this process produces smelly gas, it
leads to bad breath.
Lastly, dietary fiber regulates bowel movements.
So, a carnivore diet.
Which includes mostly animal protein and no
fiber can cause constipation.
Is dairy good or bad?
Dude.
Anything that has cheese can never be bad.
Oh.
You are unbelievable.
Dairy has become a controversial subject these
days.
Some say it is good because of its high nutritional
valve.
A single cup of whole milk contains a little
bit of almost everything our body needs.
Calcium makes our bones strong, potassium
regulates blood pressure, etc.
In addition to this, fermented dairy products
contain probiotics.
They improve our gut health.
Also, dairy obtained from grass-fed cows.
Has more omega-3 fatty acids which are beneficial
for heart and brain health.
This being said.
Some say dairy is bad because a large number
of people are lactose intolerant.
Lactose is a natural sugar found in milk products.
Besides this, since we are the only species
that consumes milk in adulthood.
And that to the milk of other animals, it
is thought to be unnatural for us to do so.
Is sugar bad for you?
No.
Because whenever I eat sugar, I get sweet
dreams.
Alright.
Now listen.
If we consume a lot of sugar, then it can
lead to serious health problems.
For example, a hormone called leptin tells
our brain when to stop eating.
However, consuming excess fructose which is
a type of sugar can cause leptin resistance.
A condition in which our brain does not respond
to leptin.
Hence, we overeat, resulting in obesity.
Moreover, excess sugar is converted into a
type of fat called triglycerides.
Triglycerides can enter the bloodstream and
form fatty deposits or plaques in blood vessels.
Increasing the risk of heart attack, stroke,
etc.
Excess sugar can even bind to collagen and
elastin in our skin, damaging them.
And thus, making our skin saggy and wrinkly.
Studies have also shown that.
Women who have one or more sugary drinks per
day are more likely to develop diabetes.
Is spicy food bad for you?
Obviously, Because whenever I eat spicy food,
my mouth seems to be on fire.
This is because spicy food generally contains
chili peppers.
Chili peppers have a chemical called capsaicin.
When capsaicin comes in contact with our tongue.
It activates the heat sensing receptors instead
of our taste buds.
As a result, our brain thinks that our mouth
is on fire.
So, shall I call the Fire brigade?
Just listen.
Capsaicin present in spicy food is not necessarily
bad for everybody.
Only those people who have a low tolerance
level.
Or don’t have a habit of eating spicy food.
Can experience some problems like.
Burning mouth, mouth burn, heartburn, irritation
of the stomach lining, etc.
