How to KETO: Combining KETO with intermittent fasting

Hey how’s it going? Well if you’re new
here, welcome my name is Lynette.
Thanks for joining me on my Keto Journey. In this video, I talk about why Keto
and Intermittent Fasting (IF) is so effective in weight management and also age reversal
In fact, it should be in your daily routine
I’ll tell you more about that in just a moment
Hey! I hope you had a chance to try the
keto diet and that’s basically low carbs
Medium proteins and high fats and I’ve
been on it for over a month now and I
weigh 45kg, which is the same exact
weight I was at when I left secondary
school at 16. So don’t buy into that
lie that says when you grow
older you have to get fatter,
that’s just rubbish! Anyway, what makes us
grow older? There are four culprits:
1. Oxidative Damage
2. Chronic Inflammation
3. Glycation
4. Stress
In short, aging is nothing but an
accumulation of damage and that’s where
intermittent fasting comes in because
it’ll help you reverse all of that and
make you look and feel years younger
Here are five benefits of
intermittent fasting
1. Increases your insulin sensitivity
Meaning your body will know when to eat
when to stop eating
2. It increases your lifespan and longevity
especially if you couple it with enough
sleep and exercise
3. It increases something called autophagy,
which is basically your cells digesting
those unnecessary proteins and breaking
it down and recycling them to make new
cells and that is basically cancer
prevention if you know what I mean
4. It delays the onset of Alzheimer’s and Dementia
5. It increases your heart health by reducing the visceral fats
that are wrapped around your organs
Here’s how you practice intermittent
fasting. Remember these numbers – 16:8
What that means
is 16 hours of fasting with an 8 hour eating window
What that translates to
is – you skip breakfast you have your
Lunch at 1pm. Have dinner by 6:30pm. Go to bed by latest 10pm.
What do you eat? Basically you eat anything and everything
that’s available minus the carbs
of course the empty carbs so no rice,
no noodles, no breads, no potatoes and if you really want to break the habit what you
can do is always start with the veggies
first and then eat your proteins and
then lastly you eat your carbs and
usually you won’t have a stomach for that anymore
and that’s what we want and that’s how
you can practice intermittent fasting
and make it permanently a part of your
lifestyle. A quick word of caution though
I really wouldn’t recommend that you
binge and fast, binge and fast that’s
really not the way to go
it’s actually more harmful to your body
than anything else and another thing to
note is also to always check in with
your doctor especially if you have got
eating disorders or chronic illnesses
please always check in with a doctor
before you do anything. Alright!
That’s it for this episode, thanks so
much for watching and I’ll see you in
the next video!
