How to Eat Healthy at Restaurants (Eating Keto at Restaurants)

– One of the biggest mistakes people make when they’re on a nutrition
plan for weight loss is cheating because of social situations. Oh, but Christy, I want to have a life. Look, I get it, I like having a life too. I like going out with friends
and going out for dinners and going to parties, but don’t let social pressure deter you from the ultimate goal that
you’re trying to reach. It’s hard to pick a salad
over your favorite pasta dish at your favorite restaurant, I know, but it’s also hard to step
on that scale the next day and know you’ve set yourself back. So true. So pick your hard. If you’re ready to make a
game plan and stick to it, download my mindset
manifesto in the link below and set yourself up for success. Here’s the thing, every single restaurant has Code Red approved food, all right? They’re just not gonna show
you those foods in the menu. They’re gonna show you the high sugar, high salt, high fat, dripping with cheese, dripping with syrups and dripping with… They’re gonna show you
those in the pictures. They’re not gonna tell you that, “Oh yeah, hey, we can
simplify this for you.” You are gonna have to take control and ask the server to bring
you out what you need. One of my clients was a CEO
of a Fortune 500 company and you know what he did
when he went to restaurants? He didn’t even let them
bring him the menu. He told the server exactly what he wanted. He said, “Bring me a six-ounce sirloin, “bring me eight ounces
of asparagus spears, “bring me a side of butter,
bring me some salt.” He said to them what they wanted. They’re gonna have what
you want in the back. All you have to do is ask for it and ask for it to be
prepared the way you want. Meat, salads, vegetables, bacon, eggs, they’ve got that stuff. Look, I’ve worked my way
through college waiting tables. I totally understand
the restaurant business. They do have what you need. They do have Code Red
approved food in the back. They have it, they will prepare
it for the way you want, you just need to ask and I’ve never seen a restaurant
give somebody a hard time for asking for a certain
food or a certain meal to be prepared a certain way. They’re very accommodating. They want you to be healthy and they want to meet your
needs, so just simply be kind, be nice and say this is
what’s going on with me. I’m Code Red and this
is what I’m looking for. I’m looking for this, this and this. Can you please prepare it like this. Bring everything on the side. And they’ll do it for you. They have no problem
accommodating most customers. The top restaurant items that
you’re gonna want to avoid are definitely the pasta,
definitely the bread basket. You’re also gonna wanna be really careful with the sauces, the dressings. Why? Because you don’t really
know what they’re made of. You don’t know what they’ve put in it. And when they add the sauce to certain foods or the dressings, they’re gonna add way
more than what you need. So always ask for that on the side. Don’t forget that most restaurants will load things down with MSG. It’s absolutely nasty and you want to keep
very far away from that. Also sugar, they’re gonna
put sugar in everything. Why? Because it tastes great, right? So you’re gonna wanna avoid the desserts. You’re gonna want to avoid
the sugar coated things that make everything taste so much better and that will help you steer clear of those nasty highly addictive items. Here are a couple of tips that I do before I head out to a restaurant. It’s really important that you stay in control of the situation ’cause there’s so many
things at a restaurant that you can’t control. So one of the tips I like to use before going to a restaurant is eating something small before I go. Now, this does not say
that you want a snack. Remember, we don’t snack
on the Code Red lifestyle but I have been known to eat
a small amount of protein or something very small
before I go to the restaurant. And why is that? Because it takes the edge off my hunger and it helps me not go
overboard when I get there. You are so tempted by the bread basket, by the things that they serve you, even by the crackers that they serve you. Mindless eating and sometimes
when you’re really hungry, your body takes over, your mind takes over and it can really derail you. So eating something small before you go is gonna help you go to the
restaurant a little bit full or at least not super hungry and that will help you not overeat. Another tip is you want
to ask for to-go box. I mean, I come from a family
where you clean your plate. So very rarely do I have food
left over and it’s a problem, I know, but getting that
food, half of that food to go and then eat tomorrow
is a good little hack that’s gonna help you not
overeat at the restaurant. For every temptation, you
hold the power in your hands to control the situation, but if you want to keep allowing
the excuse of having a life make you cheat on your nutrition plan and weight loss goals, I can’t help you. This isn’t about restricting you. It’s about empowering you
to make healthier choices and not waking up with regret when you step on the scale the next day. So if you’re ready to take your life back, know that you have full
control over your decisions and stay accountable, I have a program for you. Download my mindset manifesto today. If you liked this video give

you choose for Code Red meal? Put it in the comment below. Have a good one, I’ll see
