Homemade Sausage Gravy and Biscuits – Low Carb Keto Biscuit Recipe

Welcome all! Papa G here. Today I present
comfort food at its finest. Sausage gravy
and biscuits. This is one of my favorite
meals of all time. It’s a very simple
recipe that I love as meal for
breakfast or, for that matter, even dinner.
With less than six net carbs per serving,
it makes for a great low carb meal any
time of the day.
Let’s get started.
Begin by adding some almond flour to a food processor. Add three large egg whites; some salt; cream
of tartar; and some baking soda. Close the
lid and give a few pulses to combine. Add
two tablespoons of very cold, unsalted
butter. Give a few pulses to combine, but
be sure to leave some chunks of butter
in the mix. Line a baking sheet with some
parchment paper. You can also use a well
greased muffin pan if you prefer. Divide
our mix equally into four biscuits. Place
in the middle of a preheated 400°F
oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until they
become golden brown. While the biscuits
bake, we’ll work on our sausage gravy. To
a skillet on medium-high, heat add 8
ounces of breakfast sausage. Break it up
into small pieces as it cooks. When the
sausage is cooked through, add 1
tablespoon of unsalted butter. When the
butter is melted, stir in two cups of
heavy cream, and one cup of water. Add a
little salt; some garlic powder; and a
generous amount of ground black pepper.
Give that a mix to combine.
Now add just a little bit of xanthan gum
and bring to a small boil. Reduce the
heat to medium and continue
to cook and stir for about 10 to 15
minutes; or until it reaches your desired
consistency. Remove the biscuits from the
oven. You’ll see they’ve turned a nice
golden-brown color on the tops and on
the bottoms. Place a biscuit open-faced
on a plate. Generously top with our
sausage gravy and enjoy one of the best
tasting, low carb comfort foods you’ll
ever try. There you have it folks! My
