Here’s How the Keto Diet Worked for Me

hi my name is Tim and I’m just gonna
tell you what I know about keto now I’m
not a doctor I’m not a dietitian I’m
just somebody who lost 50 pounds and
about a little over 50 pounds and a
little over five months and and I’ve
kept it off and feel great and I love
the ketogenic diet and the ketoned
product so here’s what I know about it
the ketogenic diet is basically this for
in layman’s terms
you’re either burning fat or you’re
burning glycogen which is the carb and sugars sugars and carbs are kind of the
same thing the way I understand it and
you have to pick a side so when you get
your body into ketosis and you could use
a great product called ketoned to do that
you get your body into ketosis to stay
in ketosis you have to continue the
right mix of macros they call it okay so
about 70% 75% you want to have fat good
fats avocados you can you can have bacon
or buddy loves bacon but there’s a lot
of good fats that you can eat and then
about 20% protein and then about 5%
carbs so it’s a really low carb and then
pretty much you cut out sugar you want
to have as little as sugar as possible
there sugar and some things already
added in it so that’s why you get 5%
what happens is people say they they
want to get into ketosis they want to do
the ketogenic diet and then though
they’ll eat right for three or four days
and then they actually have some carbs
have a bowl of cereal have some oatmeal
have some chips or something ah I’ll just
have a little cheat day well the problem
is now we’ve taken on all this fat and
sugars now we’re we’re freaking our body
out and there’s no such thing as a
part-time ketogenic diet I was actually
out to dinner not too long ago my son
had overheard somebody talking about
being in part-time ketogenic diet you
can’t do it from what I have my
understanding is you can’t do it until
your body is fully ketogenicly
adapted which takes several months it
took me about three and a half four
months for my body to be ketogenicly
adapted which means I can go in and out
of ketosis so now
I can take a free day but I can tell you
this when I take a free day like with
the Super Bowl was just this past week
in here and I ate carbs all day long and
the next morning I woke up and my joints
hurt and I just felt look I don’t drink
alcohol so I know I didn’t have a
hangover for that but I had a hangover
from carbs I just felt horrible
so the ketogenic diet isn’t just to lose
weight it’s for clear-thinking energy
you just feel good and I know there’s a
lot of people out there that say we
can’t build muscle if you’re on the
ketogenic diet and it’s simply not true
I’ll just say two words Tim Tebow he’s
been doing it for years now seven or
eight years and and you know I’m not a
big muscle guy and I gotta flex my
muscles for you but I have been able to
build a little bit of muscle and it’s
not my goal to be a bodybuilder but I’m
in a little to maintain muscle mass and
so it’s a great diet if you know I check
with your physician before you do it
check with a physician that agrees and
understands I should say the ketogenic
diet because you know some people just
don’t have a good understanding of it so
that’s what I know about keto
