what’s up guys David here and tonight
we’re checking out the 2019 Richmond
night market we’re gonna check out a
bunch of food vendors oh they were so
delicious then we’re gonna take a look
around the market see what things are
new what’s the same I’m gonna give you
the lowdown and stick around to the end
I got a really good tip for you now it’s
super easy to get there if you get off
at Bridgeport station you can see that
it’s only about a five minute walk over
to where the Richmond night market is
held if you were walking from the
SkyTrain
you’d walk down this set of stairs you’d
walk out here and you will see a
crosswalk cross over that crosswalk and
around this corner and you will see
signs pointing towards the night market
from here you can’t miss it it’s very
well marked and it’s only a five-minute
walk general admission is $4.75 seniors
sixty and over are free and kids eight
and under are also free now there’s
gonna be a massive lineup do not wait in
the lineup it could take you like 45
minutes to an hour to get in here’s what
I suggest you do go find other people
and bind a zoom pass there are staff
walking around trying to sell you these
zoom passes to the entrance
go find say you’re in a couple two
people go find two other couples six
people buy a pass and pretty much walk
right in with the zoom pass the zoom
line might look long but it goes super
quick now keep in mind this is only
really good if you show up right when
the place opens if you go later on at
night you can just go to the general
admission as you enter you’ll see the
map to your right and we know we’re
gonna go we’re gonna go straight to the
food there’s so much food to check out
so let’s get right into it the first
thing I’ll mention is there’s quite a
few of these skewer places and they all
kind of have their own little thing big
beard had these quail eggs and it’s all
about grill had roasted pineapple which
I’m a huge fan of it’s always nice to
see new vendors at the Richmond night
market it keeps it fresh keeps it fun
something to look forward to and these
guys were offering wonton nachos and
deep fried flamin hot cheeto mozzarella
sticks just look at the cheesiness of
this thing and right next to it was a
Malaysian fusion roti place and this
must have been the Canadian inspired one
because it had mac and cheese inside and
we Canadians we love our mac and cheese
one of my favorite new booths at the
Richmond night market was Salty’s
Lobster Shack everything was on point
the lobster was tasty and I’m not even a
huge lobster fan the lobster bisque
again on point liked it all highly
suggest checking that one out and if
you’re in the mood
seafood right beside it is nori Express
which has this hybrid sushi taco thing
that was delicious
you’re gonna find a lot of fun creative
food ideas at the night market
another one is fries and things they
offered a faux fries have you ever had
pho fries and I know some of you
thinking right now David it’s not pho
it’s foie
so we’re gonna move on to beef tacos and
these Vietnamese inspired tacos might be
just what you’re looking for perhaps you
want Filipino inspired tacos and that’s
where you’re gonna go to Meza grill this
was another one of my favorites at the
Richmond night market this year it had
such tasty tender meat oh I was
deliciously cooked definitely recommend
checking out this place if you’re in the
mood for a soup there’s two places I’ll
recommend zim drumsticks they’ve got a
very basic menu its original recipe or
spicy soup broth you get two drumsticks
some veg the broth very tasty I really
like this soup
I like the spicy and what about spicy
noodles check out Aberdeen to get some
spicy dan dan noodles so good very spicy
though one vendor I was happy to see
back was chicken karaage and that’s
because this is just straight-up
boneless chicken deep fried with a
delicious sauce so if nothing else is
catching your vibe you can always just
get some deep fried chicken and of
course we’ve been eating a ton of food
now so we need to get something to wash
it down with my go-to is always a
lemonade gotta get a lemonade at the
Richmond night market they go
hand-in-hand for me now and while you’re
walking around you might notice people
holding pineapples and watermelons and
that’s because over at tropical bar
they’re pitting these watermelons and
pineapples blending it up and then
pouring it back in to the shell as a cup
and as you know cuz I said at the
beginning this video I love pineapples
so that pineapple juice was tasty AF
we’re gonna take a look at some of the
desserts and one place you gotta check
out are the boys in booth F 17 they’ve
got their mochi around strawberries it’s
delicious or perhaps you’re in the mood
for some deep fried sugary dough which
let’s be honest aren’t we all sometimes
oh that looks tasty but guys there’s a
tradition at the Richmond night market
and that’s to get an icy from icy bar
before we leave before we do any
finishing up we got to go to icy bar and
get one these tasty mango ices
look at that we’ve eaten a lot of food
here tonight at the Richmond night
market and there’s a reason that this is
the most popular night market in North
America that’s right look at this place
it just gets packed over a million
people visit here every year so it
becomes one of those things you’ve got
to see if you’re in Vancouver every year
the Richmond night market has a theme
and this year’s theme is summer chill
party and that’s exactly what this feels
like a nice big chill party for all ages
there are plenty of carnival games to
check out and I will mention this
quickly guys you can probably see from
the video this place gets very crowded
you can bring your pets to the night
market but I highly suggest you don’t
one of the newest additions to the night
market with the VR world which is really
cool and check it out if you’re into VR
for sure of course they’ve got the
classic octopus which will spin you
around if you’re brave enough to get on
it after eating all that food the night
market is open Friday Saturday Sunday
and holiday Mondays it’s open from 7:00
till midnight Friday Saturday and 7:00
to 11:00 on Sunday and holidays they
also offer live performances on their
main stage and plenty of places for
family-friendly activities and once
you’ve had enough to eat you can start
wandering around and checking out the
retail shops there’s lots of fun things
to see here one thing you’re always
gonna find is sucks
usually it’s like 6 bucks for 10 and
then you got the guy down the corner
he’s like 7 for 10 and then one guys
like 8 for 10 and you’re just like ok
enough
whether it’s t-shirts with celebrity
faces on them or a fortune-teller you’re
gonna find something at the Richmond
night market maybe it’s a gadget maybe
you need a phone charger that’s what you
probably need you probably forgot your
phone charger with the night market
being so accessible by transit it makes
this place a must visit for anyone
coming to the city for a couple days or
a week or a month it’s open between May
and October so any weekend through May
and October you come visit the Richmond
night market check out the experience
for yourself now guys I’m gonna give you
a little tip here at the end of the
night about half an hour before the
stalls close they all start dropping
their prices last call you can get all
those little tasty treats take with you
or maybe come at the very end and you
just swoop in and take in all that food
but keep in mind this is only for
perishable things that they have to sell
that they can’t store
everything else is gonna be regular
price the whole time guys my name is
David and I’m your guide to Vancouver
