GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE | KETO THANKSGIVING RECIPE

August 2, 2019 13 By William Morgan

hi guys it’s Keila today I am going to
be showing you a green bean casserole
perfect for this upcoming holiday or any
type of holiday that you’re celebrating
personally this has been a staple in my
mail prep so I wanted to show you guys
how easy it is to make if you guys like
recipe videos and want them more on my
channel please don’t forget to give this
video a thumbs up so I know and any
other recipes that you want me to try to
make more keto friendly leave them in
the comments down below alright let’s go
ahead and get started into this video
you’re just going to need a couple of
ingredients I’m starting off with the
bag of green beans now I’m just going to
wash these and chop off the ends now you
don’t have to chop off the ends but I
find that they’re too hard to eat and
they kind of ruin the vibe
after I’m cutting the tips I’m going to
cut them in half and place them on a
baking sheet I’m adding about a
tablespoon of Alucard oil and my
seasonings of choice
I just am using some salt pepper a
little bit of garlic powder and this
onion saw I’ve been obsessed with it
lately from Trader Joe’s and some onion
powder mix the green beans to coat it
with the olive oil and seasoning and
place it at a 400 degree oven for 10
minutes now this stuff is definitely not
needed but I like a little char on my
green beans so I invest in adding this
step into the mix I just have two strips
of bacon that I cut in half and I’m
going to place in a saucepan you’re
going to want to cook the bacon I’m just
cooking it in a pot so that way I won’t
have extra dishes once the bacon is
cooked take it and chop it up and
reserve it for later with the rendered
bacon grease you’re going to want to add
the chopped onions and saute them until
they’re translucent
I’m using about 1 tablespoon of
Kerrygold butter next it’s on to the
mushrooms now I’m just using about 8
ounces of mushrooms that I am lightly
cleaning with a damp paper towel now I’m
such a foodie I used to wire ticking
shows as a kid and I was told that you
should never wash your mushrooms so I
looked by that rule
once you finish cleaning the mushrooms
you’re going to chop them into
bite-sized pieces
add the mushrooms in and you’re just
going to let these cook low and slow
I have them on about medium low so that
way all the moisture can come out of the
mushrooms once the mushrooms are half
their size it’s time to add the cream
now I’m using about 1/4 cup of heavy
whipping cream and 1/4 cup of almond
milk I forgot to add the garlic I
usually do that when I am sautéing the
onion so I figured I just throw that in
there now and add some extra seasoning
I’m just using a little bit of salt and
pepper
since I already seasoned the green beans
I’m adding about 1/4 cup of mozzarella
cheese now this step is not needed but I
feel like it brings everything together
you can totally omit this step but I’m
only using about 1/4 of a cut I’m just
using the residual heat from the
mushroom cream sauce to melt the cheese
place your green beans in a casserole
dish this one was actually a little too
big but we’re going to go with it
and you’re going to combine the mushroom
cream sauce
you’re going to want to crunch up the
pork rinds a little bit so that way it’s
evenly distributed throughout the
casserole
and also top it with the leftover bacon
that we had
you’re going to place this in a
400-degree oven just so that everything
can come together now everything that’s
already cooked in this so this should
only take about ten minutes
and there you have it a green bean
casserole fit for a queen or a king
definitely try this out if you do let me
know in the comments down below or
change a picture of it and tag me on
Instagram that’s gonna be off for this
one I will see you guys in the next one
as always bye
