Forest Ketosis, Autophagy I Autumn Equinox

Forest Ketosis, Autophagy I Autumn Equinox

Know your surroundings!
This dry, sloped ground right here is best used as a free gym,
to get more strength and flexibility on you.
It’s the other important half in building yourself up.
But to find edible things,
you’d have to look for more even ground,
for it drains much slower.
I do my best findings in mixed forests:
ones with both, evergreen and leafy trees in it.
The food pyramid as we know it does make sense,
when you think of money and agriculture,
politics of last couple of centuries, and
most of our social worlds,
but what I like to do for the time I go foraging the forests
is to tilt it upside down.
This makes e v o l u t i o n a r y
s e n s e.
Getting most of my calories out of fat,
moderate amount from protein and very little from carbs
changes no less than fuel of my brain
and gets my body eating itself
as in, using it’s own storage more effectively:
known as ketosis that triggers autophagy.
It’s a perfect match for the last few months of the year,
when there’s everything to collect for the winter.
Like prepping food on Sunday for the next week,
except for, entire fall
for another Wheel of The Year.
I don’t always eat this well, but this is the time of the year I naturally get most aware of it…
..and boost it for the sake of curiosity, just to see
how GOOD The Human Condition CAN GET (??!)
based on, what I have learned so far, and what I can put to use.
So, I like to challenge myself in this way.
Now, a lot of people say ketogenic ways of eating are really limiting
and, yes you got to dodge most of the stuff in supermarkets.
But from forests, pretty much everything goes.
As long as you can catch it, and it doesn’t catch you…
…or poison you…
Obviously I buy fats and practice freeganism on protein, but
to make how I build my body real rich,
I go for plants and mushrooms,
that would be out there anyway.
It’s a library, but for your body.
Though you can’t go there without the gains for the mind as well.
One thing I like to do is to collect all kinds of mild plants, to make powder out of.
When you are using more potent plants,
you got to take breaks and keep on changing what you are using,
so this is why, for example,
I don’t have nettle in these green mixes.
I keep it separate so I can hit it hard
during some cold and awful winter month.
I usually mix these up, but I did one with layers just for the a e s t h e t i c s.
My dryer is really old, and it was cheap to begin with, so
nevermind it’s looks.
And also, I can’t remember for sure, but
I may have bought this from Kärkkäinen???
Which is a finnish chain that supports fascists…
and you know
and ye harm none, do as thou will…
I think it’s safe to say, supporting far right really hurts some.
But this was a decade ago, when I knew nothing.
Both, shrooms and the greens got to be dry enough to feel crunchy in your hand.
If they bend, they are not dry yet.
And, don’t make them wait when they are ready,
or they will breathe in all moist from the air in your room,
and go bendy all over again.
Close the lid when they are as dry as possible, but
don’t use a lot of heat for the process to keep them as good as possible.
You may not find this everywhere,
but in Finland quite a few cities organize events where you can bring your findings
from nature, and
old and wise professors will recognize them for you
and create a brief exhibition for everybody to see.
And they are usually eager to show you how to safely learn about things that grow around us.
And it’s awesome,
and they’ll encourage you to sniff, and touch and dabble everything
and I warmly recommend this as one of the options to get started,
if you are new to eating nature around you.
This is from Tampere, Vapriikki, where I brought some
apparently unimportant and already seen boletus shrooms.
And I’ve been taken to these events since I was a child,
and it’s been always my goal to show them one they haven’t seen before
but so far the old and wise… have….
seen it all.
So, I’m still on that mission!
This was just a fast overview to some of the things I ran here this season
so, if you are new to pagan religions, or smashing the fasssh (fascists)
then, welcome, and let me show you the world.
It’s a brand new channel, so, all word of support will go straight to my heart.
That being said!
Night and day are now twelve hours long, each,
and, I am ready to head in to
NORDIC DARKNESS, heee,
so, happy autumn equinox
hyvää syyspäivän tasausta (same in finnish)
Thank you.
Kiitos.
