Extended 44-hour Fast – Boost Your Keto Diet Results and Feel Amazing!

for checking out this video on extended
fasting I’ll be posting this video to
both channels because I really feel that
it’s applicable to both the benefits of
fasting mentally physically and you know
for weight loss so it kind of fits into
both of those buckets before we get
going I’d like to give you just a little
bit of a background on me and my history
with fasting a few months ago I had hit
a point where I was the heaviest I had
been in my life which is saying
something because I’ve spent most of my
adult life in various stages of
overweight or obesity I spent the first
couple of months then kind of trying the
traditional American approach calories
in calories out portion control getting
on that exercise bike for an hour a day
and I lost about 13 pounds which is
respectable I guess but where things
really really kicked in was when I
started doing a combination of
intermittent fasting and a sort of detox
keto lifestyle preparation induction
sort of plan over this eight-week period
I lost 35 pounds and my cholesterol
dropped significantly my blood pressure
got normal for the first time probably
in my adult life
things were good now I want to take it a
step further and look at extended
fasting now intermittent fasting is
great there’s a lot of benefits to it
you know you’ve got obviously the the
weight loss the fat loss the cholesterol
improved mental clarity and focus
there’s other purported benefits you
know that it’s anti-cancer that it can
prevent Alzheimer’s disease extend your
life all those supercool probably a
better person to explain all of this if

de Lauer now at Apogee is what has me
interested in doing this extended fast
autophagy and this is this sort of the
simple way my brain thinks is kind of
like the survival of the fittest within
your own body at a cellular level or
maybe Lord of the Flies I’m not sure
which is a better metaphor but your body
cells will start consuming the the dead
or lazy or weak cells within your body
leaving you know a healthier younger
body behind if this is all true this is
essentially the Fountain of Youth which
makes it very appealing to someone my
age I’m 51 and in my physical condition
which is right now you know I’m carrying
around a lot of sort of postpartum you
know jiggly skin here from the weight
loss that I’ve had and hoped to continue
to have through ketogenic lifestyle I’ve
been doing fasts typically 20 hour a day
fasts so my eating window is from 4 p.m.
to 8 p.m. I gradually worked up to that
as I became less carb dependent and it’s
been great I’ve been experiencing all of
the benefits that a person is supposed
to experience from intermittent fasting
now what I would like to do is whether
it’s once a week or every other week see
about taking an extended fast and what
that experience is like do I feel that
I’m getting more of that autophagy
benefit there’s probably an adjective
like autofocus I don’t know maybe I just
made that word up we’ll call it that the
etaf adjust benefit if I find that I’m
experiencing that great I’ll keep it up
and I’ll see about extending fasts even
longer but the one that I’m going to do
today in fact that I started last night
at 8 p.m. will be a 44 hour fast so from
8 p.m. last night to 4 p.m. tomorrow and
what I’ll do is I will check back in and
let you know I’m free
I’m feeling mentally I’m feeling
emotionally I’m feeling physically what
are my energy levels like etc so stick
around we’ll be right back so it’s about
nine o’clock upon twenty five hours
without food and I’m not really hungry
don’t really have an appetite even you
know I would think that I would kind of
have the munchies a little bit but you
know survive twenty five and a half
hours we’ll check back in tomorrow
morning and see how we’re doing

right it’s 6:00 a.m. that means I’ve
been fasting for Oh thirty four hours
it’s almost like my wife is making toast
and bacon not something I want to smell
right now this is kind of cool a couple
months ago my stomach used to go up now
I can actually see my ribs why don’t we
see our weight looks this morning
all right checking in at the forty hour
mark I’m feeling great my energy is
through the roof I’ve been tremendously
productive all day just got back from a
big Tito Costco run you know we’ll check
back in in four hours when we’ve hit the
end of the fast all right it’s been 44
hours that I’ve been fasting now and I’m
going to break my fast with a little
apple cider vinegar tonic recipe care of
dr. NIC I’ll probably include the link
to that and his talk on apple cider
vinegar down in the comment section I
feel great I feel fine I am not remotely
hungry that’s it I am kind of looking
forward to dinner tonight
I will weigh myself again tomorrow
morning and then move back with you for
sort of final thoughts on all of this

my 44 hour fast it was great I felt
great my energy was absolutely through
the roof
never really felt anything that was like
hunger I felt you know maybe appetite a
couple of times but you know not really
that big of a deal in fact if you’re
already intermittent fasting and doing
one meal a day it’s really just like
skipping one meal so not a particularly
big deal first let me talk about a
couple of this sort of negative side
effects that I experienced one at about
our 43
I had a little bit of diarrhea and from
what I’ve read both diarrhea and
constipation so both ends of the scale
or spectrum can occur when you are doing
extended fasting so not I guess a big
shock the one thing though that was a
little bit weird I meditate every day
and I take my blood pressure and heart
rate afterwards and yesterday when I was
in the middle of the fast my heart rate
was probably 20 beats per minute higher
than it typically is my blood pressure
both systolic and diastolic were about
10 points higher so I don’t know if this
is just a reaction to the the stress
that you put your body under when you’re
fasting but it’s something I’m gonna
definitely be paying attention to going

definitely the next one I do I’m gonna
shoot for 60 hours in terms of weight
loss from earlier earlier in the video
you saw that I dropped three point seven
pounds on the first day after I did my
refeeding last night I was 0.7 pounds
heavier
today so net three pound loss in two
days
I’ll take that I’ll take that anytime
and I’m really excited I think this
could be a regular thing that I add to
my intermittent fasting and keto is once
a week or every other week do an
extended fast but certainly as I do them
I will keep you updated let you know
what the progress is how I feel but so
far in terms of experimenting and myself
