Calories Don’t Count: The delicious Pizza-wich
Hey everyone and welcome to another
episode of Calories Don’t Count
I’m Natalie Patterson and I am here
outside Saks Off Broadway
in Bayonne, New Jersey
I am super excited to show you
what’s on the menu today.
It’s called the pizza-wich.
Bet you never heard of it
Let me show you what I’m talking about.
What is a pizza-wich?
I think the best way to describe it is a
blend between a quesadilla
meets a panini meets a slice of pizza.
All delicious. Yeah.
We’re gonna try the Texas two-step.
Yeah, that’s it. Yeehaw, let’s go.
It’s a combination of ground sirloin
slow-roasted pulled pork and
a little bit of chorizo topped with
a three-cheese blend
We’re talking about like
a pound of food here
In the oven it goes and it takes about
four to five minutes give or take
And the key is tossing it to order
so it doesn’t get soggy
and it doesn’t break down
it still has that nice crunch.
So you make this every time someone orders
every order while the pizza-wich
is in the oven
That’s when we go and toss the slaw.
I think one of the best things about
these pizza-wiches is the
fresh ingredients that go on top
because you have such a nice
combination of hot cheesy
and then you have a nice helping
of fresh crunchy.
If you’re not putting Fritos on your
pizza-which you’re doing it wrong
It’s got a little secret spice.
Um, I think we have
something truly special here
how many different ways can a sandwich
and I think we did that.
Alright, can we just take in the size of this?
This is, this is one half of the pizza-wich
It’s like basically the size of my face.
Alright, here we go.
I’m tasting so much,
I need to like process
The coleslaw absolutely comes through.
It’s crunchy, I love the pizza dough.
It makes this so different, look how thin.
You see how thin that is?
The sandwich is frickin huge
but look at that dough.
They do it right here in Bayonne.
That time I got that kimchi aioli
Awesome, really bright
with the pork in the background.
I mean, there’s so much meat in there
this is definitely gonna
keep your belly full for a couple of hours
you know what I mean?
But this is amazing
the cheeses all really fresh
I freaking love that coleslaw.
You’re definitely gonna be hearing
more about this
Everything’s fresh made
in house here in Bayonne
Gonna leave, really happy
you’re gonna have a
great experience here
come to Saks Off Broadway
I’m Natalie Patterson
and that does it for this episode
of Calories Don’t Count.
But like what word do you use
for freaking delicious
you should be here
eating this sandwich
it’s as simple as that.
I don’t know what else
I don’t know what else I can say
Freaking huge, freaking delicious.
