Barbecue Chicken Thighs – Keto – LCHF – Learn to BBQ

July 25, 2019 2 By William Morgan

this is Wiley from Learn to BBQ this week
our super simple recipe is chicken
thighs the thigh is the area above the
leg and connected to the lower back of
the chicken thigh meat is considered
dark meat it contains more saturated fat
but also is higher in iron and zinc it
also holds up better on the grill than
white meat so to start this cook you
need to do a little prep lay down a
couple of paper towels
then put down a frogmat if you have
never used the frogmat before there’s
more information in the video
description below I find using frogmats
minimize the handling of the chicken
it also is a lot easier to handle on the
grill now with the chicken on the mat
it’s time to apply the rub for chicken
thighs my favorite rub is Plowboys
Yardbird Rub in 2007 the BBQ team
Pork Pullin Plowboys wom their first
Grand Championship in Kearney Missouri
and were named the Show Me State team of
the year they also began selling their
yard bird up to the public after
applying the rub I then use a spray on
cooking oil that helps keep the rub in
place
now onto the grill make sure the smoker
grill is preheated to 350 degrees
Fahrenheit and then put the chicken into
the middle of the grilling area on a
grill make sure you are set up for
indirect cooking or you’re going to burn
the skin I normally cook for one hour
then check the internal temperature
using the instant read thermometer when
all pieces are at 165 degrees or higher
I then remove the chicken after removing
the chicken I let the thighs rest for
about five minutes before serving
so as you can see the chicken is tender
moist and cooked all the way through
Bon Appetit
our plan is to post at least one
new recipe a week and we also encourage
