Hello, am Anju and welcome back to healthy bites today am going to share a recipe that you all can prepare for breakfast or dinner, a very healthy puttu using oats this preparation can be relished by young and old, especially for diabetic and cholesterol patients. folks in a healthy weight loss path must include oats to their diet. Oats contain a lot of fibers and proteins that helps to reduce cholesterol and maintain blood sugar levels. oats is a low calorie grain and it contains soluble fiber which is very filling and in turn may helps you to loose weight. Oats is loaded with lots of minerals, vitamins and antioxidants it’s a gluten free grain and a small clarification regarding gluten or gluten free diet actually gluten is a kind of two proteins found in barley, wheat and rye by name gladin and glutenin there is no harm in taking in moderate amount. it can cause problems for people with gluten allergy or digestive disorders( celiac disease) and even the doctor suggest you to follow a gluten free diet As you all know Oats, ragi, quinoa and corn doesn’t have gluten content now let’s start with preparing oats puttu there is two types of oats are available in market one is rolled and other is processed oats here am using rolled oats and processed oats may contain added gluten. taken 1 cup of rolled oats putting it in to the small jar of mixi to powder it do not powder it much, just use the pulse button to the left for 2 or 3 times Oats is sticky, So we can’t make it like rice puttu. first add salt to taste( used pink salt) adding 3 tbsp of plain water and do not powder it much, just use pulse button to the left we can add 2 more table spoon of water and pulse it now we have a soft oats powder is ready and transfer it in to a bowl you can also add some grated coconut in to the powder for more taste but am not adding it taken this kind of a mould, Put some grated coconut first and fill with powder we shall close and steam it now I had already placed a cooker with water to boil and place the mold correctly on the knob allow this to bake in cooker for 5 to 7 minutes in high flame steam is coming out, now oats puttu is ready and transfer it in to a serving plate hope you all understand and all of you do try it out.
